I picked this Angel Kitty in memory of a great cat, Mushy!
This beautiful award is from Reflections of Bo and is received in honor of my Sweet Mushy. Thank you so much!
Mushy was an orphan kitty that hung around a friend's house. I decided to take him. We hit it off right from the start, and I thought crazy Marty needed a buddy while I was at work all day. Marty was really upset when Mushy was brought home. Eventually he got over it, but Marty ruled. Mushy was just a little lovebug! I swear he understood me when I talked to him.
I had him for fourteen years before he went to Kitty Heaven. We had a very special relationship. I believe I'll always miss him. I also believe that I will see him again, someday. This was the sweetest cat that ever walked the earth. He never hissed at me ONCE....even when he was sick towards the end!
During a routine checkup at the vets, a lump was discovered on Mushy's neck. They asked if we wanted it removed and suggested that it should be taken off. We agreed to let them go ahead and operate. I'll never forget picking him up after the operation. My heart broke when I saw my all-time favorite cat with a straw protruding from his neck for drainage. He looked so frightened. I took him home and tried to protect him from Minnie, who was then our new baby calico. She just loved to sneak up on him and hop on his head. It was just what he didn't need, especially at that time.
I was at home when the vet called and gave me the news that the tumor was malignant. I was DEVASTATED! It was like my world came to an end (thus, my music selection of "The End of the World"). I was told he wouldn't last very long. I promised him I was going to bring him out in the sunshine and walk around the pool at our new home in Texas. It was just taking forever for us to sell our house in New York. When we FINALLY moved into our home, the first thing I did was walk my baby around the pool. This is the big picture you see just below. I tried to make it smaller, but it seemed to lose something. It seems that poor Mushy was full of cancer.
He must have been sick for quite some time. He was so sweet that you would never know he was sick. He fought it hard. It was just before Christmas when we finally had to say our good-byes. I'm crying as I'm writing this, because I can never explain just what this cat meant to me. We spoke to each other, if you know what I mean. I truly believe in our mansion in heaven. In my mansion, Mushy is there for sure!!!
This is a picture of Mushy when he was a baby. He's wrestling his killer mouse toy here!
Here's Mooky taking a catnap!
Here's Mushy's last picture. He was very sick here. We didn't have much time together after this. I'm smiling here, but my heart is breaking. :-( Notice I still use the present tense...
Thanks, so much, Diane, for this lovely graphic in honor of my Mushy.
