We never believed this would be needed, but, when ABUSE, LYING and THEFT, rears their ugly heads in the Handling of Show Dogs, it's time to make the guilty be accountable for their actions.

If they expect their money, then expect the ugly story of your deeds to be brought out in the light.

Our ignorance and trust allowed this person to get her hands on our sweet dogs.
Had we been smarter, it would not have happened..
our dogs would have never spent one day with her, let alone two months.

When you pay these handlers "big money" to show your dogs, you expect your pets to be treated kindly, fed, watered, and exercised. You expect preventative medications (which you supply) to be given.
You expect them to keep your dogs clean and to do what they are contracted to do.

If you tell them your dogs are to be kept at a certain weight, you don't expect them to have your dogs loosing 10 to 20 lbs, because they think the "Kate Moss" look is better.

If they are training your dog, you would think the dog could walk on a lead after 2 months, when they could walk on it before. Can KIND treatment turn an outgoing, proud dog into a head-hanging, no sparkle of a shell, who could not understand or cope with living in a crate.. with very little water or feed?

And the final blow... Let him get jumped from behind at a dog show, having his neck and back ripped open, and given no medical attention or care whatsoever! And then not even tell the owners?!?!trong>

When the uneasy feelings finally took over, we drove 8 hours one way to get our dogs from a show. They were filthy, stinky, skinny, and beaten down.. and she said "ready to show", makes you wonder where your brain has been.

You take your miserable looking and sick acting dogs to your Vet, who grabs the door frame when she sees them, shocked at the condition they were in.
Her first remark was "IS THIS HOW ALL HANDLERS TREAT THEIR DOGS?" The little female was so weak she was almost walking on her hocks.. too much time in a crate? Here's what was found..

No flesh on their bodies, coats were dry, skin just hanging, sores (like bed sores) on their pressure points of their legs.. too much and too long crating?

Kidneys on the male were so messed up, the next step would have been shut down. No water, not allowed to go to bathroom but 2 times a day, if lucky.

The injuries to his back had turned into a Steph infection. They were unable to eat, but small amounts.

They were wormy and loaded with fleas, which they had the medicines for,
but didn't want to use because it might make them smell!!!

Like I prefer the smell of urine and filth, over a clean medicine odor. Wouldn't most people or Judges?

When this caring Handler was notified of what shape our dogs were in, her real intelligent reply was, "Those dogs were in EXCELLENT condition when you took them, and I'm not responsible for any thing once you took them." The female is recovering much better than the male. We feel it is due to her being neglected the first year of her life, before we got her. The male came from his breeder, who had him from birth.

He never knew any kind of ABUSE until he was put in this woman's hands.

Maybe, had we been known in the Collie World, it wouldn't have happened. You don't mistreat breeders, or judges or friends dogs! But, NO REASON OR EXCUSE IS ACCEPTABLE for what was done to our dogs.

The Vet bills are still coming because of the damage to our male. One week after we got our dogs back, we got a phone call, that an IMPORTANT person in the Show field, had contacted our females sires owner.. telling her to get ahold of us and tell us "GET THE DOGS AWAY FROM HER, AND THEN BE CAREFUL!" Wonder what that means?

Yes, we have medical reports stating the condition our dogs were in the day before they left with her. And their condition two days after we got them home.

This is not a put down of HONEST, GOOD HANDLERS, but it is a WARNING to the ignorant, like us, you wouldn't trust your children's safety to someone you didn't checked out, so you don't do it to your dogs.

We do not want her friends writing her laurels to us, we know what she is, and we _ _ _ _ well know what she's done.. We live with it every day!!! And our dogs are paying for it!!!

VET statement will be following shortly, and so will this handlers name!!!!!!

Not an Angel

The young pup and the older dog lay on shaded sweet grass watching the reunions. Sometimes a man, sometimes a woman, sometimes a whole family would approach the Rainbow Bridge, be greeted by their loving pets and cross the bridge together.

The young pup playfully nipped at the older one. "Look! Something wonderful is happening!" The older dog stood up and barked, "Quickly. Get over to the path." "But that's not my owner," whined the pup, but he did as he was told.

Thousands of pets surged forward as a figure in white walked on the path toward the bridge. As the glowing figure passed each animal, that animal bowed it's head in love and respect. The figure finally approached the bridge, and was met by a menagerie of joyous animals. Together, they all walked over the bridge and disappeared.

The young pup was still in awe. "Was that an angel?" he whispered. "No, son." The older dog replied. "That was more than an angel. That was a person who worked rescue."
