Angels & Freedom

It has become apparent to me that there is a growing number of people who have already committed their life focus to the subject of angels, but they are feeling a restlessness, a thirst, for more substantial knowledge about the heavens than seems to be available in the local bookstores or libraries. We are inundated with angel encounter stories, millions of pretty pictures, some historical data, and lots of objects portraying angels in one form or another. These can satisfy the deeper spiritual thirst only so far. Perhaps it is time we reflect on the whole field of angel material and see if we are truly responding to the highest potential that awaits us as individuals and as a society.

Perhaps an area to consider is whether we have opened ourselves to the impulses of the Archangel Michael who, in his role as reigning Archei, is striving to develop new forms of freedom for humanity. The freedom he encourages comes about through a new type of thinking that is separate from physical sense perception, and detached from thoughts originating from group consciousness, or even national or planetary thinking. This new way of thinking requires inner exercise to develop the ability to discern truth from illusion and to go forward continuously transforming the darkness within. It is by revealing the influences of opposition's forces that we begin to help Michael. This has nothing to do with judging human beings, but only the identification of influences opposing God that are active in our world and in our personal lives.

To discover these hidden forces, we may begin by examining the origins of our thoughts. A wonderful exercise to explain this is to sit down with a piece of paper and see if you can describe an original thought you had. Then trace it back to its origin. Did you get an idea suddenly, or did you remember something? If you remembered something, perhaps the idea originated long ago? Where did it start? Did the thought come from your guardian angel, a spirit guide, Jesus, a deceased relative, or the voice of a fallen angel? Or was it the voice of God? Do not be afraid to question where these thoughts and ideas originate.

Most of us are inundated with thoughts from a multitude of sources and these thoughts influence our actions. Many times we are working unconsciously for the opposing angels until such time as we free ourselves through thought. Working with the angels of God means at some point learning to question yourself about the origins of your thoughts and the intentions connected to them. It is important to be aware of the infiltration of two potentially seductive forces opposing the work of God. There are basically two forces by means of which we, as angel workers, can be detoured from our heavenly course.

The first misdirecting force is often beautifully presented and very pleasing to the ego. It leads one away from a desire to work among humanity and prompts one to retreat in realms of inner beauty for selfish purposes. Often times this seduction comes in the guise of drugs, but it can also be a person who has become spiritually drugged with a false inner light. What makes this light false is that it makes one feel superior in all sorts of ways and makes one want to dazzle others with a brilliance that is often only a poor reflection of the original. One of the identification tags of thoughts and deeds that originate with this impulse is lack of freedom.

At the same time this negative force stimulates creativity and the desire to learn, it disconnects the process from the Divine. Instead, there is a strong endorsement of self. I am sure all of us have heard of musicians, singers, artists, sculptors, and others who actually pride themselves on their egotistical perspective. The solution for any of us to becoming free of these influences is to remember to put the priority on God.

How much of the material you are ingesting about angels these days has the word "God" mentioned in it? If it's just pretty or sweet and it does not move you to a deeper connection with the Creator, watch out. The angels of God cannot work with humans who do not share the same focus they have. Angels can help and guide, but to work with them requires that God alone has the top priority in your life. And, interesting enough, when one seeks to establish this focus in all areas of life, the angels flock to one just like birds returning in the Spring.
