George got fat!
As the eggs develop. the iguana will stop eating. The eggs simply take up too much room inside of her. She will grow a rounder belly, and close to laying you will even be able to see the eggs in rows beneath her skin. If you suspect your iguana is gravid, make sure to prepare for at least two X-rays. The first set is taken near the beginning of her season, to make sure all is going well. Take the opportunity to talk to your vet about special dietary needs for a gravid iguana. Expect to take the second set after she has laid eggs to make sure all eggs were indeed laid.
