About the Author
Hi everyone! That's me in the picture, with Jonathan and Patrick, on one of our butterfly outings in the nature reserves. My two boys are slowly picking up butterfly watching, but still prefer to slug it out with cyber-monsters on the home PC.
I'm an architect, and butterfly watching is a favourite pastime, besides getting my weekly dose of fresh air and exercise! Although most people in Singapore express disbelief that there are actually butterflies here in this densely built-up city, there really are sanctuaries where these beautiful little creatures still exist and even thrive.
When I'm not designing and managing building projects, I'm usually out there in the forests observing, documenting and collecting butterflies for scientific research. I'm also a volunteer researcher for an on-going butterfly biodiversity survey for the National Parks Board, which is the statutory board responsible for our beautiful garden-city.
Feel free to email me if you have any comments or suggestions on this web page and take your time to enjoy the butterfly graphics that took a lot of patience and practice (and a lot of film!) to get right.
