The Chocolate Grass Yellow's
distinct brown apex on the underside of the forewing instantly sets it
apart from the other Eurema species found here in Singapore.
However, in flight, one is usually not able to tell the difference from
the other Eurema species that commonly abound in Singapore.
The males of this species can
often be found puddling at moist muddy spots with other butterflies.
The species can be said to be quite common, and can be found in many locations
in the nature reserves as well as urban areas occasionally. Like
all the Eurema species, the caterpillar feeds on various species
of Leguminosae. |
