INFORMATION
There is not really much I can say about these pictures like I did with my Park pictures. Except for my pictures of the sea gulls. Seagulls will eat almost anything. Sometimes you can even hand feed them. They are kind of scavenger birds. They will even take advantage of other birds for food. The younger birds have mottled brown feathers. It may take them as long as four years to change into their adult color of white and black. The color of their heads vary from white, brown, to black. A sea gull may bond and pair off with another sea gull for years. They can live up to thirty-six years and longer in the wild. They come from the family Haridae, and the order Charadriiformes. I hope you enjoy these pictures. I will try to explain a few things about some of them. :)
There are five lighthouses on the Outer Banks, Cape Hatteras, Bodie, Currituck, Cape Lookout, and Ocracoke. I have a picture of Cape Hatteras and Bodie to show you.
The next pictures are good pictures of the beach and ocean. Also some of the common birds you see and other things you can see there. You may also see me and other family members in the ocean getting hit by waves.

My next picture is of a crab. These crabs eat stuff on the beach and sand fiddlers. I am not sure if sand fiddlers is the correct name for them but that is what we call them. Anyways they come out at night to look for food. They dig holes in the sand for their homes. At night people get their flash lights out and look for them. I don't think they eat them. When I go crab hunting I just look for them and watch them. The males have very large pinchers and the females have little ones. They are fun to watch because they put their pinchers up into the air and try to scare you off. They are very strong and pinch hard. Same for the little ones.
My next picture is of a pelican in flight. These pelicans are neat to watch. They normally fly in groups. Sometimes they will fly very close to the ocean looking for food. Then they dive into the ocean for food. I have seen 126 of them in one group before, and yes I did count them. They fly in formation so they are easy to count.
Here is a picture of a sandpiper. I have not seen them very often. But in the summer of 1997 there were tons of them running up and down the beach. They are fun to watch.
The next sunrise is a good one with pelicans flying over the ocean. My mom is standing down by the water. I am sorry that when these pictures were scanned some became kind of fuzzy.
Last year my mom, dad, and I took an airplane ride over the Outer Banks. It was very cool. We saw a lot more than other people get to see. They had to get gas for the plane so we got to go with them as they fueled the plane. We even saw an old ship wreck. I took many pictures. A few of them I took are down below. Also I am going to put some of my Wright Brother's Memorial pictures down there.

The following pictures are from the Elizabethan Gardens. These gardens are nice to visit. They have tons of flowers. Some places are like mazes. These are some pretty good pictures. There are fountains and statues all over the place to. It is in Roanoke Island, North Carolina. The first picture is one I took of a statue. The other one gives you a good look at part of the garden.
The next picture is one of an alligator. I took this picture at the North Carolina Aquarium. It is also in Roanoke Island. They have a lot of neat things to look at.
The next pictures are of animals that are at a restaurant called Pigman's Barbeque. Don't worry I don't think they are going to eat them. They just keep them outside for looks. I took the pictures of them in the summer of 1997.
The next pictures are of boats and wave runners. The first one is a picture of my dad on a wave runner at a local lake in Indiana. The next picture is one of my friend on our wave runner, it was taken at the Outer Banks. The third picture is of a boat that I took while I was on a schooner in North Carolina.
