Research Areas:Computational numerical analysis of ordinary and partial differential equations with specific applications to computational fluid dynamics ( CFD ) and heat transfer.
Nonlinear dynamical systems theory applied to experimental and computational data analysis and development of advanced techniques for turbulence simulation and modeling, especially interactions of turbulence with other physical phenomena (e.g., acoustics, chemical kinetics, radiation).
Specific research projects include simulation of flow in cooling air circuits of gas turbine blades, development of chaotic-map (dynamical systems) turbulence models, calculation of spotting distance of fire brands in forest fires, and prediction o f pressure increases in the human eye due to partial blockage of outflow regions.or
