Who Is Anne MacFie?

Electronic Mail

Known to acoustic music fans of the Appalachian area as the creator of
such quirky songs as "Andy Pruitt's Honda, "Have a Nice Day" and "The
Crack Between the Cupboard and the Stove," songwriter/balladeer Anne
MacFie has enjoyed a folk singer's career that has spanned three decades.
She also has an interesting sideline: She edits the BLUEGRASS BULLETIN,
a six page monthly newsletter serving the UFO community of Kentucky
& southern Indiana/Ohio.

How does a folk singer get interested in unidentified flying objects? "Who
wouldn't be?" she asks.  "My profession just enables me to pursue my
interest openly without worrying that a boss or my customers could drop
me for being too weird. People in the Arts are allowed, even expected to
be different." However, she goes on to say that she finds nothing odd in
being curious about the extraordinary craft that thousands of people have
observed cruising the atmosphere of planet Earth for at least the last
fifty years.  "What's weird," she insists, "is the crazy kind of explanation
that people who ignore the data will put out to debunk a sighting and deny
that the phenomenon exists."

A member of Skywatch International and a certified Field Investigator for
the Mutual UFO Network, Anne has reported on several Kentucky UFO
incidents and occasionally speaks before groups interested in learning
about the subject.  She publishes the BLUEGRASS BULLETiN with the
assistance of Louisville writer Jarret Washington, and a number of
regional guest writers.  The newsletter is partnered by the INTERLINK:
KENTUCKY web site, mastered by Clint Stone of Henderson.

Through her own investigations, Internet news and periodicals, Anne
endeavors to keep her readers of up-to-date on the UFO news that the
mainstream media still tend to pass over.  Although she sees much
improvement in the amount of UFO information that now reaches the
public, she believes that "the majority of Americans are still clueless
about how very much of this activity is going on."

The slide presentation she will present at the Kentucky MUFON Symposium
concentrates on some famous and less-well-known UFO incidents that
have taken place in the Bluegrass State. Prepared by Anne, Al Cornett of
Slade and Ann Petrocelli of Leitchfield, the program is titled "The
Kentucky UFO Connection."
