The Philippine Marine Corps has used this versatile 4X4 Wheeled Armored Vehicle since its arrival prior to 1983. It is manufactured by the Cadillac Gage company as the V-150 Commando. As a private venture of the company, it was a refinement of the V-100 model armored car that was used in by the US Army and Airforce in the late 1960s in South East Asia as the XM-706. The Army version utilized a turret for Military Police and convoy escort duties while the US Airforce used a version with an accordion roof hatch like that utilized on the LVTP-5 Amtrac (Landing Vehicle Tracked Personnel).
The vehicles are still being operated by the Philippine Marines along with the later model V-150S with a 1-meter turret like that used in the upgraded LVTP-7 (USMC AAV-7) with a 7.62mm and 12.5mm machine gun combination.
The Philippine Marines also operate the
six wheeled
V-300 with a 1-meter turret and 90mm gun turret
versions.
The scale resin kit is manufactured in the
Philippines. At present the prototype kit is available and can be
built to represent the early M-706 used by the US Army in
Vietnam.
The next kits available will feature the correct wheels fitted
for the 2 ½ ton axles of the V-100.
Those supplied presently are for the V-150s 5 ton truck axles.
An available option are the radial "Michelin" type
tires.
The next version of the kit that will be offered
will feature the vehicle hull of the US Airforce version with the
folding accordion type roof doors.

The V-150s with the longer wheel base will also be produced. The V-300 and other variants are being considered if the response to the initial model kits are favourable.
Great news. Hobby Boss will be making injection molded plastic kits of the V-100 family. This is a savings in price (US$18 in HongKong) and build time.
Progress on some kits built from Oct.08
Building a PMC V150.
