Now I spend a lot of my spare time designing graphics! More personal
stuff in my guestbook, but here's how I started doing graphics (*new):
I cruised the neighborhoods and found a lot of good ideas, great pages, and lots of graphics. I also found tools to help you design your web (html, graphic & utility programs) especially in GeoCities/SiliconValley. Even though I'm using Front Page to reconstruct my pages, I am still learning html code & I found the spell checker.
My pages view best with Microsoft I.E.; I've noticed that the animation works more correctly and the midi's sound better. But I'm working on it & trying to find what works in both.
I started using my own graphics and if not, I'll identify where my graphic came from "** graphic by & link at". Even though I'm not using a lot of their graphics, they have some really great ones! And if you're still with me, I've included their logos & links (just click my favorites links in the cube)!
I also started creating graphics in Dec`97 and have my own buttons, bars, unusual geo-buttons, some graphics, kids, stars & stripes (red, white & blue), wallpaper & word-art (some animated). I'm trying to keep a count and I have at least "60" pages here (not counting the individual page sets!) Of that, most pages contain my "free" graphics, and 5 have "free" midis. I'm also optimizing my ".gif" graphics to make my pages and yours load faster. I will also use gif wizard (link on favorites page) to shrink gifs that I consider oversized. *Now I'm using a iMac and also bought a drawing board (harder to use than I thought it would be) and am still practicing on it! Plus as my graphics become more sophisticated - drawing in one program, finishing in one-two others, shrinking, adding text, etc. - they are also becoming more time consuming - so hopefully even though you'll see less graphics added they will be better!
I've had a lot of fun creating my first set of "Christmas Pages" and plan to keep rotating holiday pages. I can't believe I have been creating holiday pages for one year! (I'll keep changing these for the different major holidays). I couldn't wait-I went geo-plus (I ran out of room), now I just need a permanent job!
