Windows CE's next version is to be called "Windows Powered." Microsoft is trying a new strategy with their next version of Windows CE (code named Rapier) by changing its logo and title to "Windows Powered". It looks like an attempt to distance themselves from the perceived short comings of the CE o/s by de-emphasizing the o/s altogether and putting forward a new image based on the strength of the Windows name. Because of the numerous platforms using CE, Microsoft hopes to send a more cohesive message about Windows CE and the full Windows consumers know from their desktops and notebooks.

If you've got 24 hours to spare this holiday season you can learn to program for Windows CE. That is if you find "SAMS Teach Yourself Windows CE Programming in 24 Hours" under your tree Christmas morning. Put together by the senior development engineers at BSQUARE it is available online from Amazon.com and is priced at US$24.99
