The mastery of watercolors depends highly not only on the artist's technical skill and creativity, but also on the artist's ability to use mistakes constructively. The medium does not allow much room for error, and as such, a great watercolorist learns to use errors to "add" rather than diminish the final work.
Krupinsky is not only a master watercolorist, but also someone with the gift to deliver watercolors which appear errorless and perfect. And in an art era where "perfect" is somewhat scorned (by people who can't master the medium), she is a brilliant example of what great work can be accomplished by that rare marriage of creativity, talent and technical mastery.
This is without a single doubt the best show of the year at the Art League and easily one of the best I've ever seen there. If you want to see what a human being armed with sable brushes, water and pigment can deliver, go see the creations of one of Washington's best watercolor artists.
