TV Shows
(Please note I don't plan my day around these shows. When I'm watching TV, and one of these are on, this is what I watch.)
Present: [ Lonely Planet | Downtown | the Simpsons | Ally McBeal | 120 Minutes | Hercules (the cartoon, on Fox; I know it sounds stupid, but it's actually one of the coolest kids cartoons on TV these days... it incorporates history!) | Whose Line Is it Anyway? | The Anti-Gravity Room ]

[ My So-Called Life | Daria | Xena (don't laugh! it's good sometimes) | Rude Awakening (remember? that morning show they used to do on MTV with John Sencio before the FIRED him? Damn those evil corporate execs... John Sencio could kick Carson Daly's ass blindfolded! With one hand tied behind his back! Yeah! And such is the stuff of my distaste for modern MTV...) ]

More forthcoming (as I find and/or think of them).

American Beauty
This is easily the best movie I have seen in years. It touched me as much or more than any movie I have every seen. I can't tell you what it's about; any description would fall short of its comprehensive nature. Let me put it this way: no matter who you are, if you like art, you will enjoy this movie. Maybe too much (like me). I loved it. You should too.
The Crow
Brandon Lee's acting, as well as that of his costars, matched with wonderful writing and interpretation, inventive cinematography, and general ambience has made this my favorite film to date. It, like it's literary counterpart, is a beautifully tragic-- sometimes violent-- story of love and loss, unparalleled in its insight and execution. This was indeed Brandon's masterpiece; he is a loss I and many others will forever mourn. But at least he left us with this most wonderful tale, brought to life on the big screen for all of us to enjoy.
Interview With The Vampire
What can I say? Beautiful acting, wonderful interpretation of the story, and the costumes, ah, the costumes... This is the film that ushered me into my darkest days (so to speak). Anne Rice, as well as Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas and Kirsten Dunst, exhibit such dramatic genius in this film. It is up there right next to The Crow.
Little Women
Okay, let's establish this right now: I love historical fiction. Anything set in the past is usually going to be liked by me. "Little Women" is no exception. The costuming and set in this moview is wonderful. Plus, a bunch of my favorite actors are in it (Gabriel Byrne, Claire Danes, Winona Rider, et cetera). I'm also in love with Laurie (i.e. Christain Bale).
Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil
I don't mind Pennsylvania, I like New England, but my heart is in the South. This movie (and [duh] it's literary counterpart) is set in Savanah, Georgia, one of southern America's most beautiful and unique towns. Kevin Spacey (one of THE greatest actors +ever+) is a most stately southern gentlman, and John Cusack his most ignorant Yankee-reporter-friend. Not to mention Lady Chablis. *laughs* Oh, I do love this movie.
Labyrinth
Fact: David Bowie is the sexiest man on earth. Well, at least one of them. This movie is an exciting, fantastical journey into the subconscious of a girl not unlike myself, trapped in a dull existence with nothing to turn to save her books and fictional creations. And I must say, Sarah, you created such a wonderful villian! Jim Henson's ingenius puppetry and the cast's brilliant acting bring this film to life like so few other contemporary films.
Reality Bites
If I could bottle the sexual tension between Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke in this film, I could solve the energy crisis. So let's just get one thing straight: I did not like this movie. I PSYCHOTICALLY LOVED IT. Hence, I am dedicating an entire other page to it. If you like the movie, or want to know more about it, g'head and pay it a visit.
Velvet Goldmine
When I watched this movie, it brought back a feeling I have not had for quite some time; since I first saw "The Crow," in fact. I saw it once, and I liked it. I watched it again, and I loved it. Now I can't stop watching it. It speaks to me, it calls out to me somehow, touches something in me that has been searching for recognition and an outlet for a long time, possibly all my life. Glam Rock Will Never Die!!
