Daddy's Little Lacy |
This poem is for a friend of mine.
His daughter was killed in an accident
some years ago as a mere child and it is
my prayer that he finds solace in knowing
that God holds those who are taken at a very
young age such as Lacy was are very dear to
the heart of God.
Daddy's Little Lacy
In memory of Lacy Penn
Daddy's little Lacy,
Little lady fair.
Lacy's gone to heaven,
She's with the angels there.
Lacy has left this world,
She's with the Lord above.
She has been wrapped in glory,
She dwells in God's own love.
Lacy is walking up there,
There on those streets of gold.
She's with God's other children,
Playing countless games untold.
In Lacy's heart is laughter.
In Lacy's heart is praise.
Awed in God's majesty.
He's the very Ancient of Days.
Lacy, your daddy misses you,
So very, very much.
He longs to be with you, Lacy...
To have, to hold, to touch.
