Who Are We, That We Would Judge? |
Who are we that we would judge?
When we do, we often err.
It's not by our greatness
That we have a home up there.
We are still sinners.
This flesh is full of wickedness,
But by God's bountiful mercy,
We have His righteousness.
We still fall along the way.
From time to time we bear our shame,
But by God's grace and pardon,
We are called by His Name.
His mercy abounds beyond belief.
His Son ransomed you and me.
He cleansed our souls of our sins,
When He died upon that tree.
The just shall live by faith.
We are no longer under the law.
Washed in the precious blood of the lamb,
We should hold Him in awe.
Without the shedding of blood...
There is no remission of sin.
God sent for us, the Passover Lamb...
So that we could win.
Our door-posts are covered with His blood.
The Angel of Death passes us by.
Egypt's curses are not ours...
For us, the Messiah did die.
Oh sinner, bought by the Lord,
Paid for by the blood He has shed;
Take heart for you are now righteous.
Though Christ died, He's no longer dead.
No, death could not hold Him.
He broke death's grip, you see.
His mercy and pardon are for you.
Through Him, we have been set free.
Hallelujah, Praise His Name.
Hallelujah, God is justified.
He washes away our sin...
Heaven's gates are open wide.
