My Dark Shadows &Friends Page

Welcome to my Dark Shadows & Friends Page.

Here I will be sharing some of my favorite TV show and my closets friends with you.

If you aren't aware, Dark Shadows was a gothic soap opera that ran for 5 years almost 30 years ago. The amazing thing about the show was, the types of characters they had on there.

There was Barnabas Collins, the resident vampire. Angelique, the beautiful witch who, loved Barnabas enough to curse him for all time. Julia Hoffman, the doctor who felt she could cure Barnabas with medicines and love. Quentin Collins, a man destined live eternally, and also a werewolf. And the rest of the Collins clan. All tormented throughout time by various curses and demons.

Needless to say, this show was different. It is because of this difference, it is still revered as one of the most loved soap operas of all time.

This is Barnabas Collins. Most notably known as "the distant cousin from England." Little did they know how distant he was. For you see, his distance could not be measured in miles. No. His was measured in time. He was born in the 18th century, but his cousins were all 20th century born.

You may ask, how this is possible? The answer is clear. Meet Angelique, the woman who loved Barnabas through an eternity, and then some. Quite attractive, don't you think? Angelique set a curse on Barnabas. One in which she was the last to fall prey to. Her curse was simple, she gave him eternal life. But whomsoever loved him, would die. In the end, so did she.

This is Collinwood, home to the Collins family in Collinsport Maine.

The women just seem to flock around Barnabas. No wonder Angelique was continously jealous.

Julia always had concern and compassion for Barnabas and all his victims. She was deserving of his love, but was only thought of as a "good friend."

One thing for sure, Angelique always was able to bring the passion out in Barnabas.

This structure is affectionately called "The Old House" so named because it is where the Collinses resided before inhabiting "Collinwood."
