***Events leading to Titanics demise***

11:40- water is rushing in at 7 tons per second. she is designed to sustain some flooding but with 6 compartments flooding at the same time, all safety measures were useless.

10 min. after the collision- Most of the damaged compartments are filled to the top

20 min. after the collision- passengers comment that they feel as if they are walking downhill

12 am - Titanic has taken on an estimated 8000 tons of water.

12:20- The bow is now 15 feet from being submerged

1 hour after collision- all compartments are filled to waterline, she has now taken on 25000 tons of water

1:40 - crewmen supplying power now scramble for their lives , flooding continues pulling the bow under. Slowly the stern rises up into the night sky.

 

More than 2 hours after impact - Titanic slips beneath the sea taking with her more than 1500 souls.
