The Beauty of a Woman
The beauty of a woman
Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair
The delight of slim feet and ankles
As she walks without a care
The beauty of a woman
Must be seen within her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides
Her eyes, her eyes
Where the dove of love resides
The beauty of a woman
Is not in a facial mole
But true beauty in a woman
Is reflected in her soul
It is the caring that she lovingly gives
The passion that she shows
And the beauty of a woman
With passing years-only grows
The gentle wonder of a woman
As only her children knows
My Special List....MY LIST INCLUDES YOU
I have a list of folks I know
all written in a book.....
and every now and then
I go and take a look .
That is when I realize these names
they are part......
not of the book they are written in
but taken from the heart.
For each name stands for someone
who has crossed my path sometime.....
and in that meeting they have become
the reason and the rhyme.
Although it sounds fantastic
for me to make this claim....
I really am composed
of each remembered name.
Although you're not aware
of any special link....
just knowing you have shaped my life
more than you could think.
So please don't think my greeting
as just a mere routine....
your name was not
forgotten in between.
For when I send a greeting
that is addressed to you......
it is because you're on the list
of folks I'm indebted to.
So whether I have known you
for many days or few.......
in some ways you have a part
in shaping things I do.
GIFTS
1) THE GIFT OF LISTENING...
But you must REALLY listen.
No interrupting, no daydreaming,
no planning your response.
Just listening.
2) THE GIFT OF AFFECTION...
Be generous with appropriate hugs,
kisses, pats on the back and handholds.
Let these small actions demonstrate the
love you have for family and friends.
3) THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER...
Clip cartoons.
Share articles and funny stories.
Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
4) THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE...
It can be a simple
"Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet.
A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for
a lifetime, and may even change a life.
5) THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT...
A simple and sincere,
"You look great in red," "You did a super job"
or "That was a wonderful meal"
can make someone's day.
6) THE GIFT OF A FAVOR...
Every day, go out of your way
to do something kind.
7) THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE...
There are times when we want nothing better
than to be left alone.
Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of
solitude to others.
8) THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION...
The easiest way to feel good is
to extend a kind word to someone,
really it's not that hard to say,
Hello or Thank You.
Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.
I AM THANKFUL...
FOR THE HUSBAND WHO COMPLAINS WHEN HIS DINNER IS NOT ON TIME BECAUSE
HE IS HOME WITH ME, NOT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
FOR THE TEENAGER WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES BECAUSE THAT
MEANS SHE IS AT HOME & NOT ON THE STREETS.
FOR THE TAXES THAT I PAY, BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT I AM EMPLOYED.
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY, BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG, BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK, BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE
SUNSHINE.
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING, WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING, AND
GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING, BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT, BECAUSE IT
MEANS THAT WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND THAT I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH
TRANSPORTATION.
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL, BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.
FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH THAT SINGS OFF KEY, BECAUSE IT
MEANS THAT I CAN HEAR.
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING, BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES
TO WEAR.
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY, BECAUSE IT
MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS, BECAUSE IT
MEANS THAT I AM ALIVE.
AND FINALLY.......FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL, BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.
