Angels Among Us
I was walking home from school on a cold winter day
Took a shortcut through the woods, and I lost my way
It was getting late, and I was scared and alone
Then a kind old man took my hand and led me home
Mama couldn't see him, but he was standing there
And I knew in my heart, he was the answer to my prayers
Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hour
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love
When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees
There's always been someone there to come along and comfort me
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand
A phone call from a friend, just to say "I understand"
And ain't it kind of funny that at the dark end of the road
Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope
Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hour
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love
They wear so many faces, show up in the strangest places
To guide us with their mercy, in our time of need
Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hour
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love
To guide us with a light of love

Gone Away
Don't think of them as gone away,
their journey has just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
and being here on earth is only one.
~~
Just think of them as resting,
from the pains, sorrows and the tears.
They are in a place or warmth and comfort,
where there’s no days, months or years.
~~
Think of how they must be wishin’,
that we could know this day.
To know and feel the joy and happiness,
in their spirit since they went away.
~~
Just think of them as livin’,
in the hearts of those they touched.
For nothin' loved is ever lost,
and we loved them so very much.

Officer Steven Jerman
I would like to honor the memory of Officer Steven Jerman, a 23 year veteran of the Kane Borough Police Department, who died in the line of duty on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999. It was a senseless murder by an 18 yr. old with a hand gun.
Among his duties as a Police Officer, Steve was heading the DARE program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) in the Kane Schools. He was thought highly of by his students, and he will always have a special place in their hearts.
In memory of Columbine High School...the students that gave their lives...their families and friends. We will never forget! My thoughts and prayers are with you!!
