The title sounds a little iffy...especially if you are among those that met your mate in the "conventional way!!! *G*
But this page is here first....as my gift to Mike....and second...to just remind those that think it's impossible...that it's not only
possible....but...with alot of patience and understanding....a wonderful experience!!! *S* So if you care to...sit back and enjoy
our story! *S*
To Mike....so many times I've said it....and never do the words come up to what I mean....but as you know....simply said...
Briefly
We met in the WBS Thirtysomething lounge.....*G*...neither of us looking for romance, both of us just coming out of relationships.
Me a seven year marriage and Mike a fourteen year relationship with his girlfriend, so we were only looking for some fun and
adventure!! *LOL*
After alot of fun and "jello" tossing in the lounge, we started talking seriously using various internet programs, Powwow and ICQ
were the best at that time, and talked on the phone some....okay...alot!!!! *LOL* and believe me...the internet is much
cheaper!!! Sweden wasn't on the phone companie's "discount" list at that time!!! *LOL*
Finally...on September 23, 1997 we met....and it was all we'd hoped for and more....we had said before that day ...that we just
HAD to meet to make sure what we were feeling was real....and after that day...there was no doubts at all...*VBS*
So now we're looking forward to the time when we can be together....ALL the time....marriage is our goal...and nothing can stop
us now!!!!!!!*Smile*
This page wouldn't be complete without a little mushy stuff!!! *LOL* Mike and I love to laugh...it brought us together...and
got us through some rough times!! *S* And for that, I will always be eternally grateful...*BS* I wouldn't say that falling in love onine
is the best or easiest way to go about things, but for us, it worked. For me....finding Mike online was like finding a treasure chest.... he
gave to me things I only dreamed about....and shared with me a love that is so very rare. He took the time to find the things in me that
not many see, and loved me sometimes in spite of those things...*grin* ... and in turn...I found a man that despite his sometimes
"tough guy" exterior...is a wonderful, warm, loving person. We sometimes search our whole lives to find the one person in the world who
can love...and be loved....in the most fundimental sense of the word....and sometimes.....some of us get lucky....and find that person....
and that's when the dream becomes reality.....Mike is my reality....the internet just made it possible. *VBS*
So if you're searching still....just remember that the internet MAY be a means to find your reality...your dreams fufilled...but don't lose site
of what is in front of you either....because too many have come online and lost more than they ever believed possible...so...while searching...
take risks...chance the tide....but always remember that the shore is there....and it just might hold your reality....*S*
OKAY!!!! *LOL* If you were hiding your eyes because of the mushy stuff...it's OVER now!!!!!! *LMAO*
Update!!!!!
We're on our way!!!! NOW we dig into the visa stuff and give our lives over to the government to determine the fate of our romance! *LOL* Hopefully it will be a kinder...more gentle government that will see that what we have gone through to be together and will quickly grant our request!! Keep your fingers crossed for us!!! We'll update here on how it's going!!! *Grin*
Another Update!!!
Been a crooked road but finally we're getting the visa papers ready to mail! *LOL* Believe me there's more to it than just telling the government that you want to do it! *Grin* In three months (give or take a day or two) there should be another update here saying that we not only have the visa but an arrival time for Mike to come home!!! *Smile* And for all our friends who've been hounding....errrr...asking politely *LOL* about a wedding date...that too should be here soon! :-)
We just spent another wonderful week together (and this time he didn't even get sick!) and are looking forward to the next one (perhaps with me flying to Sweden this time! YIKES!! *LOL*)
This just keeps getting better and better!!!

Today the visa application is in the MAIL!!!!
From here on out it's in the hands of the government and the postal service!! *yikes* *LOL* Keep your fingers crossed for us, we've waited all LONG time for this!!!! *Smile*
After a wonderful week spent touring Sweden with Mike, getting to know his family and children, we're even MORE anxious for our time together!! I can't tell you that finding love online is any better than meeting in real life...but I CAN tell you that for us, we've had the opportunity to learn about each other in a depth that many people never find...and have learned to appreciate the precious time we have together!! *S*

We've set the date!!!! August 28, 1999!!! Now the government won't dare mess with us!! *LOL*
**********UPDATE!!!**********
Well the INS came through with flying colors!!! *SMILE* They've granted Mike's application for his visa so now all that's left is getting him here!! Well....that's not all! *grin* We're learning though and since there are more and more "online" romances becoming reality I thought I would share the information that I've found...sometimes by hours of searching and reading the "fine" print! Check out page two of our story to get some hopefully helpful hints on sludging through the "red tape"!
