The island of Gozo, together with Malta, Comino and two uninhabited islands, form part of the Maltese archipelago. Just 93 km south of Sicily, Gozo is surrounded by a crystal clear, unpolluted sea, providing varied bathing facilities from sandy beaches to rocky shores and a veritable underwater paradise of the diving enthusiast. The warm Mediterranean ensures diving all year round. The island abounds in prehistoric remains dating from 3,500 B.C. while its imposing medieval and baroque architecture reflects the island's checkered past.
