Gunfighters, Indians. cowboys, miners and mountain men . . . the "rust-eaters" who pushed the rails west . . . the Pony Express . . . the Texas Rangers and the outlaws they fought . . . the settlers battling fire, floods, stampedes and sickness . . . their adventures made the nation what it is today!

Annie Oakly 1860-1925
Annie Oakly was nicknamed little miss sure shot and traveled for many years with buffalo bill's wild west show. Her accuracy with rifle and pistol astounded thousands of people who went to see the show. she once shot a cigarette from the mouth of Kaiser Wilhelm of germany.
The Apache Kid
In the arizona territory during the 1890's, a reward of $15,000, was posted for the capture dead or alive of the apache kid and his gang as they were pursued by cavalry, sheriff's posses and bounty hunters.The photo shows the kid (center) when he was an indian scout sergeant.
Lillie Langtry 1853-1929
She was the first social lady to appear on stage.She caused a sensation in european and u.s. tours.In her honor, judge roy bean renamed the town of vinegaroon to langtry, texas
Judge Roy Bean 1825-1903
Known as: The law west of the peco's, the saloonkeeper judge would often recess trials to sell liquor to the courtroom.Among his unorthodox exploits making him a legend were fining a dead man and staging a heavyweight boxing match in the middle of the rio grand.
