Remebering Selena
On March 31st,1995,Selena Quintanilla was shot...and passed away.Please help keep her memory alive! Please celebrate the life of Selena:Our friend,our role-model,and our angel.
Selena Quintanilla: She could light up anyone's darkest day...She affected my life greatly,even though I only knew of her after her death.With her advice,even though she is not here,she has helped me make good decisions.It's amazing to think how the people who met her felt when they did meet her! I would love to hear your story if you did meet her...what was it like? Or even if you didn't meet her,how did she have an impact in your life? My story:
I found out about Selena after her death...I was young at the time she was shot,and didn't pay much attention to it.My grandmother said she was the"Mexican Madonna," and that didn't appeal to me!! Well,after watching a special program on VH1,I had already fallen in love with her music.It aired right before the movie,Selena,was released in Theaters...Okay,so I bought the Soundtrack(but had not yet even seen the movie)and totally fell for both the English and Spanish songs.So,I made a goal to buy some more Cd's! (Little did I know where that would head!!) I bought more and more of the Spanish cd's,and when I bought "Dreaming of you," I found that I could actually sing along with the Spanish lyrics! Wow! From then on I loved the Spanish language.Then,I found out through family history that I have distant Spanish relatives in my family... Now I'm getting very fluent with the beautiful language,and love Selena's music more than ever! Her music has helped me so much,through rough times.With her help,I am learning to smile more,laugh often,and follow my dreams.

Selena's name means "Goddess of the moon",so I adopted this goddess for my page. (You have to admit...she looks like her,too! *lol*)
