Spitfire 1500 Page - week 16

I'm back from my holidays (had nice ones by the way) so it's time to restart the restoration of our beloved Spitfire !!
Today I managed to get the front spoiler, Chrome Bumper and Quarter Valances, off the car. Or better what was left of the Quarter Valances !! 50% was Rust, 10% was old metal and 40% was Fiberglass and polyester-filling !! I'll have to buy new ones !
I'll probably buy the Polyester ones and not the steel ones ... anyway the polyester valances are much cheaper and live longer, so ..;

With the Valances and so, off the car; I've now the chance to have a closer look to the front of the chassis. And it doesn't look that bad, but not good either !
Some Parts are completely rusted through ... and will need some welding but that's a problem for later !
Today I took the Radiator out of the car, cleaned it and painted the Frame in Black.
That looks better !
I also started cleaning and painting the Waterpump assembly along with the coolant reservoirs. It's unbelievable what a mass of junk came out of these ...
