This section gives gives information about an MA-level course in technology for general and special education. We will stress the use of Jewish resources.

Goals of the course:

• Study of general and special education technology
• Study of methods for the deployment, use, and evaluation of technology in special and general education courses
• Study of the benefits that students will derive from the use of technology in special and general education.

Topics to be covered:

• Audio-visual equipment, including VCRs
• Software for recording grades
• Software for creating tests
• Software for sending automated notices to parents
• Software for the sight-impaired
• Software for the retarded (based on different levels of retardation)
• Software for students with motor skill impairments
• Software for students with tactile skill impairments
• Technology for students with physical, motor, emotional, social, or mental impairments, disorders, limitations, or disabilities
• Technology for caretakers and caregivers for the disabled

Prerequisites taht will not be included or studied in the course:

• A basic knowledge and understanding of computers and computerization
• An understanding of basic writing skills
  An ability to report on research in a scientific manner
