Special Education

Introduction

When many people think of Special Education they think of people with disabilities and people who are lacking certain facilities that are expected in the general population.

However, Special Education also includes the other end of the spectrum. The end that is sometimes forgotten and that is those with special skills. The gifted people.

This course will help us understand the special needs of those who are gifted with greater intelligence, those who are healthy, and those who need to be given more challenges so that they can succeed. Without these additional challenges these people are going to be bored in class and they will be wasting their time. They will probably also act out in order to gain attention during the class. A special program for the gifted can help avoid and prevent these problems.

The course of study includes the development of an imaginary special school for the gifted. It will be based on the program at http://www.oocities.org/giftedschool.
