MICHAEL DENNER  (Interviewed on December 07, 1998)

ME : It's the second time you leave MERCYFUL FATE (& KING DIAMOND, like Timi Hansen). Is it only due
to the fact that you wanted to spend more time with your family or is there any other reason?

MICHAEL DENNER : There were two reasons why I left : first to spend more time with my children, and second
to run my shop properly ( note: he has a record store in Denmark ).

ME : There were a lot of line-up modifications in MF & KD since 1985. Is it the fault of King's personality or what?

M.D. : No. Not really. More like attitude and personality problems concerning some members.

ME : What are your actual favourite bands?

M.D. : I listen to a lot of different musics from SINATRA to LED ZEPPELIN.

ME : What's your opinion concerning the guitar work of M. WEAD on DEAD AGAIN?

M.D. : It was my idea to bring Mike in. Because I knew that he playes with the same melodic feel as I do. So,
very good guitar work :)

ME : What do you think about the METALLICA's cover of MF? Do you sometimes meet METALLICA's members?

M.D. : Yes, LARS came to my house with the new CD and it's great! They are close friends...

ME : What are your future musical projects?

M.D. :  At the moment, I am in the studio, recording 10 news songs with a new singer called JESPER HARRITS.
It sounds a bit like accoustic LED ZEPPELIN.

ME : What are your favourite MF/KD songs?

M.D. : MF favourite ones: EVIL - BLACK FUNERAL. KD favourite songs: ABIGAIL - DRESSED IN WHITE.

ME : Have you some news about Timi and Kim Ruzz?

M.D. : I was at Timi's birthday party in October (great fun!). He doesn't play anymore. I lost contact with Kim
Ruzz.

ME : What are your other passions?

M.D. : Collecting rare LPs  -  Gambling  -  Old movies (Bogart, etc.).

ME :  Do you sometimes visit Internet's world?

M.D. : No, sorry.

ME : What are your religious convictions?

M.D. : I have no interest in religion: I'm an atheist.

ME : Do you wanna tell something else to the fans?

M.D. : I am looking forward send my new songs for you in the near future + Best wishes to all the fans!
