TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Having spent the most part of my free time during three years on creating, improving & animating

the King's Gems page which became The Official King Diamond & Mercyful Fate Homepage, it was

an extremely hard and sad decision to choose to close the website.

I don't want to enter into boring & tearful explanations about this situation. Though, I do think that all

the people who have supported and appreciated the website deserve at least to know why I have decided to stop.

For about one year and a half, the fan club and the management agreed to promote this website

to the status of the official MF KD Coven homepage. So it was clearly announced on the previous fanclub

fanzines and in the House of God booklet, Metal Blade ads,... etc. 

Though, without any discussion nor notice the fan club's guy Renzo Van Soelen launched "the" 

official MF KD Coven homepage... I have been extremely surprised when one day of November I found 

that new page (which already existed since October) on internet as 1/ I was already running the official homepage

2/ nobody told me about that page and 3/ no explanation has been done about the reason of such strange project.

Obviously, I asked explanations & a real choice from the management in order to know what this second

page means and what mine will mean in the future. Difficult to understand, but Olé Bang didn't agree to take his 

decision during months. Untill the day I have published the actual European manager's tour diary. That day 

I receive an email from Mr Van Soelen telling me that this diary has exclusively been written for the official 

KD MF Coven homepage (of course he meant his page). So he was forbiding me to use it on mine. Furious, I 

sent once again a letter to Olé Bang asking explanation, as during previous tours he personally sent me his diaries for

a publication on my page! The answer was : indeed you can't publish it, it is reserved for Van Soelen's page.

Well, it's far from the end of the world (even far from my own end :) but I couldn't have borne such an 

unhonnest attitude and unrespect from these people. I have given all my heart & soul with total loyalty &

sincerity to the bands & fans. I can't understand and accept that some can decide to give the official status

to the website and remove it without reasons...

Finally, I especially want to thank all the great people who were behind the website or I was lucky enough

to meet. Some of them are real friends and like part of my family. I am also grateful to the bands memebers and 

labels who always accepted to help me and support the website with great gifts for the contest, exclusive interviews,

nice news & info, ... etc. You guys were the deep reason of the big & endless growing success this website had

and especially all the happiness I got from this project which has been one of the most important of my life...

Expect something super-heavy, progressive and technical in the classic swedish-doom metal vein!

album "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" which will be released 12th March 2001. The title of the song is "Devil's Path" and will be only available on the Japanese pressing.

12. 08. 2000 : (from TheUnborn) Guitarist Mike Wead (MERCYFUL FATE, MEMENTO MORI, HEXENHAUS etc.) is currently finishing up the rough demos for his debut solo album for the Utopian Vision Music label, to be entitled CATHARSIS. Joining him in his progressive/power metal melee, to which he will be laying down all the guitars and vocals are: renowned bassist Sharlee D'Angelo (MERCYFUL FATE, DISMEMBER, WITHCERY, ARCH ENEMY etc) and drummer Teddy Muller (MAYA DOME and current INVOCATOR drummer). Scheduled for an early 2001 release, the MIKE WEAD - Catharsis, album will contain the following cuts: "Catharsis," (instr.) , "Soulburn," "My Angel (from Hell)," Fear...," "I Love The Dead" (which is a MANILLA ROAD cover) and a few yet to be titled new tracks.

11. 20. 2000 : (from RollingStone.com / confirmed by the management) "Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is in the process of assembling vocalists for Probot, a side project that will feature his new, original songs sung by his favorite metal vocalists...has already written and recorded the bass, drum and guitar parts at his home studio...He then sent one instrumental track to a handful of singers, each of whom was asked to come up with lyrics, record them and then
title the song.

Participants include Celtic Frost's Thomas Gabriel Warrior, Soulfly's Max Cavalera, King Diamond, Corrosion of Conformity's Mike Dean, Venom's Cronos, Snake (formerly of Voivod and now with Union Made), Treble's Eric Wagner, Wino (formerly of the Obsessed and now with Spirit Caravan) and Slayer's Tom Araya. Motorhead's Lemmy and
Pantera's Phil Anselmo are also expected to lend their lungs.

As for Grohl's pet project, the Probot album will likely be finished early next year and it is also due for a spring release."
 

11. 08. 2000 : (from Metal Blade - Germany) KING DIAMOND will release in spring 2001 an album entitled "20 YEARS AGO (A night of rehearsal)". KING DIAMOND started his career as a lead vocalist in an all Danish band by the name of BLACK ROSE. This was three years before MERCYFUL FATE released their now legendary "Mini-LP" in 1982. BLACK ROSE was a 5-piece band, heavily influenced by Deep Purple and Kansas. Already then KING DIAMOND used crazy makeup and the band had a reputation for delivering a very violent and bloody theatrical show. The music to be featured on this record was recorded live during a night rehearsal session, on the 30th of September, 1980. There will be 11 original BLACK ROSE songs and a cover version of Golden Earring´s "Radar Love" (the long LP version). This material has never been available in any form or fashion until NOW!

10. 08. 2000 : (from Metal Blade)  King Diamond Signs Worldwide Deal With Metalblade, Bassist Hal Patino Rejoins!

The Master of the macabre, King Diamond has extended his deal with Metal Blade Records by re-signing an exclusive worldwide deal. King was previously signed to Massacre Records in Europe.

There are changes abound as former bassist Hal Patino returns to the band, replacing exited David Harbour. Hal recorded with and toured on the seminal KD albums "Them", "Conspiracy" and "The Eye". With the line up set, the
European leg of the House Of God tour will begin in March 2001.

King and Co. will enter Nomad Recording Studios in Dallas in May 2001 to record the follow up to "House Of God". The album is tentatively scheduled for release around Halloween 2001.

and at the moment it's not for sure at all it will happen.

09. 10. 2000 : Finally the first album of the band VIRUS 7 (with Hank Shermann & Bjarne T. Holm from MERCYFUL FATE) will be out on the 11st of September. The title is "Sick in the head". You will find 12 extremely powerful tracks on it : Sick in the head, Stuck on it, Obey or Die, Danger Me, The Execution, Your master calls, True Pain, Fight the fight, You better believe, Livin' large, Last Chance, T.U.C.. All the texts are written by the singer from ORIGINAL SIN : Edgar Paul Allen and the music by Hank Shermann. This musical project has nothing to do with MERCYFUL FATE & KING DIAMOND old-school metal universe as it plays closer to fusion/indus metal. I just can say one last thing : buy this album 'cause it's one of the best artistic project of this year !...

05. 01. 1999 : A new MERCYFUL FATE bootleg has been recently released. It's called "House of Satan". The cover is the same than the old bootleg LP "Live" (the original cover artwork for "Melissa"). Of course it is not a CD-R (I absolutely don't care about them). It contains songs from the bootleg CD "Return of the Living Dead" and demos. The great interest of this CD is that it offers 2 absolutely unreleased old MF songs: "Truck Driver" & "Persecution" + some interview's extracts. Buy it quickly because I think it is very limited... 03. 12. 1999 (from John Flaherty) : upcoming double CD tribute to King Diamond on Necropolis....this is a massive undertaking and we're going all out with it, I've spoken to King about it last July way back when I was doing it independently with local bands.....now we've got Dimmu Borgir, Primal Fear, Dark Funeral, Destiny's End, Ancient, Hatred, and more from Metal Blade/Nuclear Blast, etc....definitely more classic metal though than anything else....
My band Relentless is also doing the tribute, covering "The Accusation Chair".

Confírmed already is the biggest German metal openair, the WACKEN OPEN AIR which will take place on August 6/7. Also confirmed is the Gods Of Metal festival in Milan, Italy on the 5th of June. Headliner on that day is Metallica, so this is REAL big one.
