Quilt Presentation 1998

This project first started almost a year ago. Fans wanted to show their love and appreciation to Air Supply for giving so much of themselves to people all over the world through their music and their words. The idea for the quilt was born via the bands internet website and the word spread to fans all over the globe. Soon, the idea became a reality as quilt squares began arriving in Erie, PA. Over the course of several months, the quilt began to take shape, and in April 1998 the finishing touches were made and the quilt was complete.

On June 19th, the opportunity came to present this gift to the band during their show in Dover, Delaware. Near the end of the concert, during their encore, the sound system in the theater went out. Karen Catalde and I took this opportunity to give them the quilt on stage. It was an awesome experience to say the least. ----Laurie Frank ----

Here's what Russell Hitchcock, lead singer of Air Supply had to say upon his return home from Dover, DE.

Whe had 3 great shows in Dover and were thrilled to see so many of you there to share it with us! We were presented with a giant quilt on Friday night. It is made up of album covers going all the way back to the 1978 "Life Support" album in Australia. Photographs of us with fans, people who have worked for us and some very touching quotes are also worked into the quilt. It is obviously something that took a long time and a lot of effort to put together. It really was/is a beautiful thought. We thank you for it very, very much and to those of you who worked on it, my deepest appreciation for your time and efforts. Thanks a million!
