                                                       A brief history of Jonesbox

                                                             Jonesbox is the name of our band and we play metal. At least our version of
                                                             it. To tell the truth, our exact sound is rather hard to describe. The closest
                                                             thing we could come up with was Metallica meets Nirvana in a dark alley.
                                                             The lineup currently consists of David Freed on guitar and vocals, Andy
                                                             Garver on bass, and Jason Cordell on the drums.

                                                             The band was originally formed in the Midwest. Once we had attained a
                                                             reasonable level of success (we're receiving regular airplay on eight different
                                                             stations), we relocated to the Orlando area to ride the new music scene. The
                                                             first thing we noticed about the local bands was a lack of stage performance.
                                                             Most of the band s here are boring the crowds. We went to the House of
                                                             Blues early in the summer to watch a battle of the bands. The entire time we
                                                             were there, most of the crowd was sitting down. Those people that were
                                                             actually standing, were back against the wall drink ing beer and ignoring the
                                                             show.

                                                             Our live shows are a high energy blend of original material mingled with a
                                                             few cover songs. The energy level is what it's all about. We like to get the
                                                             audience fired up and moving. If they aren't, then the band does what's
                                                             necessary to accomplish it. The idea is to get the crowd into the show. After
                                                             all, if a band has great material but no stage presence, no one will care, and
                                                             the building will slowly empty out. That has yet to be a problem in any of
                                                             our shows.

                                                             This brings us to another issue. There's more to playing a song than just
                                                             hitting the appropriate notes. Music is about feeling and emotion. That needs
                                                             to be brought out by the people playing the song. Chops are also very
                                                             important. There's nothing more embarrassing for a band playing a live show
                                                             than to have to start a song over. The audience usually doesn't appreciate it
                                                             very much either. So, in a nutshell, we all rock on our instruments. We know
                                                             most bands say that too, but We've seen some of the local talent. They blow.

                                                             To sum it all up, we can put on a good show and keep people coming back to
                                                             see us. The reason we picked up instruments in the first place was to
                                                             entertain people. It's what we do best.
