Jonesbox Goes On Tour!
(or …Livin’ in a Van down by the River…)
UPDATED 11-10-99

Howdy folks, Jonesbox here updating you on our “For the Money” tour.  Things have been very interesting this past month.  For one, we aren’t living at our phat pad (instead, we’re in a late model Astro van).  Despite not living at home, things are going pretty well.  So read on, we’re about to tell you some crazy stuff.

First off, October 1, 1999 – Jonesbox decides that Florida living just isn’t the thing for them.  What made us come to that conclusion?  Well, the lease was up on our pad, and we’re not going to stay another year in a poverty stricken state.  Not only that, but 2 months after the lease expired, the owners move back in.  How coincidental is that?  So we had two options:  Leaving Florida and enjoying the luxuries of life, or staying broke in Florida.  Survey says… EEGGGHHH!!  we’re out.

It is now November 10, and Jonesbox is about to embark on a fantastic voyage.  We’re expecting Nov. 14th to be our last day in Florida.  Andy just got laid off from work, so it’s DO OR DIE.  Before we leave though, we have to take care of some issues.  For instance, why did our deposit disappear into the hands of the owner’s son?

Despite losing time dealing with our landlord, other things have arose.  Before we left our house, we had to endure TWO hurricanes.  We think that was Gods way of saying “Hey dudes, better get out while you can, cause I’m about to annihilate this place”.  Not only was that kinda freaky, but on the same day Irene hit, an earthquake rocked the other sunshine state.  Seismologists say it was a 7.0, which is pretty big.  It’s quite a strange coincidence though that both happened on the same day.  Anyway, while enduring the hurricanes, Jonesbox had to help Jay’s mom put up wood on the windows (yes, another fiasco).  It ended up taking us three days to finish her house, which left us with about 6 hours to take care of our stuff… ARRRRGHHH!!  Another moment was Jay driving IN a hurricane (work isn’t so nice).  Truth be known, it wasn’t that big of a deal, but it sounds cool.

We also want to mention our van.  We had to get a van for the tour, so Andy sacrificed his Mustang 5.0 for an ’87 Chevy Astro.  As far as the name goes, thanks to Dave, we’ve dubbed the van “The Lugmobile” in honor of Andy’s mustang (The Mugmobile).  Yeah, it looks like the A-Team cruisin’ down the road, but at least we’ll look semi-cool.  This leads us to the tour.  We’re takin the van up north November 14th, and ending up in Indiana to play the local music scene.  This is home to Guns and Roses, Blind Melon, and other such acts, so our music should be appreciated.  After playing Lafayette, we’re dippin’ to Roanoke to spark up that scene.  We’ve generated a big following due to Brian Bokenyi, Leonard Carter III, Joey from 101.5 WZZI, and other cool folks.  So that’s about it for now.  Look for us in those places soon, as we’re not set on dates.  This you will know soon (another update).  Peace out…
