Elvis And Me

I have a special connection with Elvis Presley as do I'm sure many people.  But I'm not going to get into all that right now.  Look to this space in the coming weeks as I continue my work on this site and continue to add new things to all sections.  Right now I just want to focus on getting all these sections up so there are no dead links.  Then I will make each far more in depth.  So for now just a bit about my self and The King.

Brief Intro- My name is Michael Mandziuk and I am possibly the biggest 17 year old Elvis fan in the galaxy.  Although I do consider myself to be out of touch with my generation (I should have been born at least 10 years earlier), I think that Elvis transends the time periods.  Unlike most popular bands today, Elvis will still be popular "A Hundred Years From Now",  just like Mozart or Bach.  Elvis is that important. To me he is not just a singer, but a cultural revolutionary. He is the single most important figure in 20th century music and possibly the most important figure of the century period.  There was no one quite like him and there never will be agian.

My Name- Michael Mandziuk

My Location-  Toronto Canada.

My Favorite Period-  All were of course great, but I feel that Elvis was at his best during his comeback years, when he returned to live performance and turned away from Hollywood. He had something to prove and the diversity of his performances in that period was remarkable.  He proved something indeed. That he was still the King and always would be.

Favorite Elvis Songs-  There are many, but here are some of the very best:

Kentucky Rain, Tomorrow Never Comes,  Mystery Train, Hurt (live versions), Unchained Melody, Beyond The Reef, Danny Boy, Don't Be Cruel.

And that's just a few.

Favorite Elvis Albums-  Elvis Country and That's The Way It Is make a great listen combined and are also probably my two favorite.  The Memphis Record is a great retrospect of his best session ever in Memphis 1969.  The Sun Sessions are just classic and as for live performance, Aloha From Hawaii is great, but if you can get ahold of the bootleg "Burning in Birmingham", it's even better.

Final Thoughts-   I made this site not only as a way to share Elvis material with fellow fans, but also to show my thoughts on Elvis and then make you think about your own.  If I succeed in either regard, then I'll be forever grateful.
