Hello and welcome,
to my jammin' music insanity page! This page features only SOME of my fav. bands! I
don't really believe in limiting this page to one band, when
there are too many cool ones out there (even though I would like
to have the time to do so for my ultimate favs). I'm into alt.,
ska, punk, pop, rock, techno,dance, r&b, 80's, some rap/hard
rock, and industrial. You can click a group pic to go check out
links or download Mp3's & Midis from my lists. The local NRK
station logo on my links page, can also connect you to the
coolest links of MANY other great bands & artists, probably
some of those I forgot or didn't have room to add! Be sure to check out local radio station
NRK live w/ Real Audio, or listen to your own picks of music on
the Real Audio Jukebox. (Need Real Audio?)

These are ways outdated, but I still like these guys and lots more!
These guys kicked a$$ (10/13/98), Bonfire Tour, with Eve 6 & (5-10-00) with Tonic at the Schnizter! Gotta catch them LIVE!! They are probably one of my most fav. & inspiring bands right now. Not only do they have attitude, style, the nice sound, and so much meaning behind every one of their songs, they also just have the kinda cool energy that keeps a band going, and leaves you listening to their cd over and over again. So, all you 3eb fans don't have to wait much longer, if you want a new dose of Stephan & the guys, the latest album, Crystal Baller, is due out Sept. 10, 2002. Also check out their tracks on the Varsity Blues, American Pie Sndtrck, and the "Train in Vain"cover, on London Burning -clash tribute! More info. on 3EB Page or Official Site.

.... I think a band has got to enjoy what they do, (as in their music), putting as much energy into it as they have in themselves, for the most part. Catchy lyrics, eccentric voices, and nice guitar driven tunes, that people "want" to hear are cool, sure. I don't think anyone would argue with that. But, a band that is true to what they want to do, what they love to do, ....blends their backgrounds, feelings, emotion, and experiences into their songs, believes in their originality, and can use that talent to make up their own unique "style". That is a very special band, or "buzzworthy", in the words of MTV. It's a band that will far out live those one-hit wonders or faded glory bands out there, that may have been just a fad and that don't have those qualities. | Also, anyone who thinks they're too cool for mainstream , or even vise verse (too cool for underground), is not being very open minded to excepting NO LIMITS to everything that's out there in the creative world of music & beyond. Let your mind (along with your maturity) expand, and by all means listen to what YOU like, but don't shut out a band or ANYTHING in life, because of a status thing. Experience it for yourself, and then come up with your own, hopefully unbiased opinion. I think hating a band and calling them a sellout, just because they hit mainstream, beat the odds, fullfill their potential, and probably some very big dreams, is kinda lame. It's nice thinking you've had listened to 'em from the beginning and were always behind 'em, but give a little, continue to listen, and be happy for them for reaching those dreams and letting more people enjoy their music, not just know them when they hear their name. There's gonna be like 10 times as many people picking them up, compared to those who are gonna give up on them for goin big time. I mean sure we hate to see cool people hit the big time and change to become the typically sterotyped, overplayed, greedy, Hollywood rock star icon, but it can happen. If you had the power or talent to suddenly be thrown into that, who says you'd be any different? But, people come back down to their feet sooner or later. |
Another thing that amuses me, just because you heard of them first, what credit does this REALLY give you?? If you're a friend or really involved w/ helping them out, it's a little different, and of course you'd be ecxcited. But, c'mon. We listen & stand behind the music and the artists by buying their cds, going to their concerts, etc, and helping them in some way to become what they are, true. But, the band puts in all the potential talent, energy, time, and effort to become who they are as musicians, experimenting w/ and advancing into what will be their style. They make you experience their feelings, allowing you to relate, be inspired, or just escape, relax, and enjoy what they do, their sound, their rhythm and harmonies. Sometimes, though (you gasp as I write this), they may even teach you something about life along the way of doing all that, (i.e. something you can relate to, as many songs inflict powerful emotional feelings when put into a film, ever remember experiencing that??). Still though, back to my point, the band is truly the one you should be showing the credit & appreciation to, not you for being the so called "first" to hear them. That's kinda of foolish in itself, I think. I'm sure their "real" friends were behind them before they were even thought of as being a band/musician, and any of the world had the faintest clue about them.Yet, still,...being there first was probably not the biggest thing on their mind,.. but showing there support, instead. I have a lot of band friends on the net who I try and help out , but all in all they hafta be the ones w/ the talent to get themselves places, though I'd hope they'd think of me when they do. But, in the beginning it's all just fun and wanting everyone to share in the music, in the struggle to challenge yourself to reach new heights, once you are surprisingly inspired & honored to discover the fact that YOU CAN! (Keep in mind, that last thought can be applied to much more than music.) |
