Jason Borgested, Ben Hinkley, Chris Engelman, Peter Line, Tom Mckay, Cesar Mora, Ryan Wilburn, Sergie Ventura, Slugo, Shane Yost, Bucky Laysek, Collin McKay, Matt Laidenmuth, Andy MacDonald, Bob Burquist, Eitan Kramer, Ryan Jackalone, Danny Way, Todd Richards, Marius Summer, Trevor Andrews, Tucker Hibbert, & the retired, Tony Hawk! (master of the 1st 900- June 27, 1999, - the X-games & the 2nd, Nov. '99 - Mttv SMF3-D), are just some of the guys who've shown you the best in Xtreme boarding and skating. Plus the best in bmx from those like: Dave Mira, Ryan Nyquist, Kevin Robinson, Anthony "Flush" Hernandez, TJ Lavin. Also, the best in motocross jumping from those like: Ricky Carmicheal, Jeremy Mcgrath, Evil & Robbie Kneviel, Myckey Diomand, Travis Prasenta, Mike Cinqmars, Mike Craig, Larry Ward, Brian Deegan.Plus the women snowboarders: Myumi Fukuda, Nilliard Pilovakis, Leslie Olsen, Michelle Tagar, and Shannon Dunn. "They say patience is a virtue and to be here doin' this right now, I can't ask for anything more." - Quote from Tim Duncan, in half-time interview, during the Spur's winning 1999 Championship game (6-25-99). This 6'10", 238 lb., (St. Crouix ) U.S. Virgin Island native, (born 4-25-1976), who bares tattoos which include a wizard and a magician, has came a long way, from starting out wanting to be on the olympic swim team. His dream would soon change as in Aug. 1989, a strong hurricane would change the course of his passion and bring on a new dream. He'd start to play basketball and with a little time and perfection, blaze himself onto a unstoppable road. Moving on to Wake Forest, his skills became inevitably, undeniable. This Wake Forest graduate was determined to keep his promise to his mother & father, by finishing out his college years, earning a degree in psychology, knowing there'd be plenty of time ahead to prepare for his play in the game. And if his long list of awards and mentions, among which include: Consensus National Player of the Year in 1996-97, The Nat'l Ass. of Basketball Coaches Player of the Year, U.S. Basketball Writers Player of the Year, The AP Player of the Year, Naismith Award, Wooden Award, AP All-America First Team by a unanimous vote, NABC National Defensive Player of the Year honor for the three consecutive seasons, First in ACC with 481 blocks (second in NCAA), All-time third in rebounds in ACC with 1,570, 10th player in NCAA Division I history to score 2,000 points and grab 1,500 rebounds, 1997-98 Rookie of the Year standing, along w/ this year's 1999 MVP!! of the game, are any reassurance of those words,.. looks like Tim was more than just merely right. He was damn right. It would be only to soon before everyone would see him as the all-star of the game, even w/ a short 98-99 season. Now, only In his 2nd season, along w/ David Robinson (the admiral), & the rest of the Spurs, he shares the first '99 Spur's world championship title and a championship ring, by ending the Knick/Spur series in a 4-1 defeat. Though not quite the jumpman/slam dunk master of the game jordan was, you can expect much more from this young dude w/ a calm domineer and sweet smile, gained from tasting the thrill of victory, that many struggle to reach even in their later years of the game and never see. This all comes from one of the dudes known as the twin towers, who strangely enough admits to being afraid of heights and sharks but has a large knife collection, including a 3-foot samurai sword. But, luck alone was no way the driving force, this guy along w/ his spirited team have shown what it means to put in all the skills and work hard to take all the glory and reach the top, coming out as the better team this year. Though a great blow to Ewing, Sprewell, Houston, and all the Knicks, who put up a great battle, just a near point away from taking the series to a game 6. Duncan,2,3,4 NBA
