What do you get when you put four prolific songwriters each from different musical genres and social backgrounds into a rock band together? No one has been able to decide since the band has only been together for a very short time, and has a 12 song original set and a three song demo that has left the critics speechless.

With a gentle stir of power pop and electonica, coupled with a healthy dose of teen angst supplied by seventeen year old "Wild Horse" Anni Ernst, Silverstone have already wowed an all ages crowd with their dynamic live show that is sure to become their hallmark.

Every member of Silverstone bring to the brew unique ingredients that give the band its powerful sound. Power house drummer, Pat Quave (24), has been in several bands and is finishing up a CD as guitarist with Anastasis, a seven member Christian rock band, who has already made their debut in front of a crowd of thousands at "Atlanta fest" in Atlanta GA. Pat has always been involved in music both as a performer and a songwriter, and says he will always make music,

"...'cause in reality," says Pat, "I only have a couple of dreams"

Brian Hendrix, the eldest (26) and probably most accomplished of the group,is classically trained, writing his first composition at age twelve for a four string quartet, and after six and a half years in the Navy went on to sign a publishing deal with Carefree Records in may of 1998. Brian, who is influenced by Queen and Motley Crue, decided to take his classical training and trade it in for a career in rock.

Anni, who is on the other hand the youngest in the group (17) has been writing since the age of seven and got her start singing with her Dad in church. At age fifteen, have herself how to play the guitar, she expanded her song writing with her now blossoming lyrical content. Such powerful material dominates her work with songs such as "Wake Up Jason" which walks the listener through a date rape as she intertwines them with the stark melodies that make the song so easy to grasp. But her outlook is always fresh, she sees it as:

"...all fun and games until someone loses an eye."

Influences range from Joni Mitchell and Janis Joplin to Tori Amos and Natalie Merchant.

Stephen Poff (24), who has been in bands for over eight years, has just parted with former band mates in One Like Son, but is continuing with work on a new CD project for One Like Son working solo for a change. Stephen has been immersed in the music of business for years, wearing many hats. He not only owns his own indie label, Body Thief Records, but is also an engineer/producer as well as a concert promoter for local rock groups. Stephen's influences are as eclectic as punk groups: The Dead Milkmen and The Circle Jerks; eighties pop rock: The Cure, R.E.M., and the The Pixies; to modern alt rock: Ben Folds Five, The Counting Crows, and The Wallflowers.

"I have been very influenced by pop rock and distorted guitar. I love to hear a pretty melody backed by a wall of guitar eating your face"

Siverstone met recently at "The Coffee House", owned by drummer Pat Quave, and has been making music every since. This is definitely a band to keep an eye on. With this much talent, it is going to be hard to ignore.
