Personal Message from Alby: "Howdy Guys. You certainly have created a monster here (speaking of Rob & Shortbreads Alby Page "sigh"). All that fuss about little old me. I must admit I'm really grateful for what you've done. What can I say about all the letters, my fans, I'm blown away with it all. Its taken me a while to come to terms with it all. I'm not really what you all say. I'm just an ordinary guy, bricklayer, plus about 20 other jobs before I got itchy feet. I can't thank you all enough for the nice words you have written. And you're all as important as I am. And I wish I could write to you all personally (fans), and befriend you all. But I'm one of those two finger typists. It would take me all day just to write to one. I'm taking off again soon on a cataraman and I hope to be online. So I will keep you all in touch of my weekly movements around the Pacific Islands. Out of all those letters sent, I can't believe that there was only one bad one. And I say thank you to that guy that wrote the bad one, because it evens up the scale. (But I'm not really that bad!) Thanks again to all the fans and my heart is with you. I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to respond. It's just taken me a while to come to grips with all this. Cheers, Alby."

WORDS FROM YOUR NARRATOR

Right about now, Alby is putting the final touches on his new series of documentaries.  You will be able to see them on the Travel Channel sometime in early 2000.  Also, you will be able to purchase the whole kit n' kabootal from Alby's Website (The Trading Post). The videos are brand new material on Australia and the islands of the South Pacific around the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Fiji.  Currently, Alby is looking through all of the still shots and deciding which ones to use for which documentary.

Bad news about the World Safari book however.  It seems that, after a talk with the book publisher, the original World Safari book can not be reprinted.  So, instead, Alby is going to create a completely new one.

Apart from his various travels...Alby spends a great deal of time on his environmental efforts. Currently, his heart is torn by the fact that the Mountain Gorillas in Africa are dying out.  They are the most endangered species of gorillas and are also the friendliest to humans. There are only about 600 of them remaining and Alby is trying to raise money for them.  Please...If you have the means, give a donation for this extremely worthy cause.

It has truely been a pleasure informing you on these three marvelous films.  They have been an incredible inspiration to me, and to many others ( I have found ).  There is deep thrist of wondering out there for this man, Alby Mangels.  I am sincerely glad that you stopped by and I hope you will return and find out the latest news on Alby.  And please, if you have the time...immortalize your words in my guestbook.  Cheers,  "ROB"
P.S.  In regards to the Guestbook.  Please be fully aware that I am not Alby Mangels.  I actually have no real connection to him personally.  I just have a cosmic kinship with the man.

(All World Safari Videos and other documentaries can be purchased at The World Safari Trading Post)

Acknowledgments:
1) Of course, I pay Tribute to Rob & Shortbread.  They were actually the first Alby webmasters (with me a stiff second).Their posting of my web address sent the majority of the Alby-lovers my direction. I sincerely thank you
2) To Jake Cooper and Michelle Parkinson...who offered me a fair price on the 1985, out-of-print, never-to-be-published again book of the World Safari films.  They run a Collectables store in Florida, mainly specializing in Aviation memorabilia...however they had the "Grail"...the item I've sought after for the past few years.
3)
Alby Mangel's World Safari. Savvas Publishing- copyright 1986.
4)  To Alby Mangels.  It takes quite a man to live the life you have and it takes an even bigger one to continue on. We all love you and wish you the best of luck in the future. This Site in all its' splendor is a tribute to you. Cheers
