Signed from Wimbledon during the
1997 summer recess, Oyvind was seen by Liverpool to be another piece of
the missing jigsaw, a player who can get up and down the park, provide
support to both defence and the forwards, and be on the scoresheet with
effective regularity.
Although he netted six times for the Pool, most of them came in high-scoring
games, while as a right-footed midfielder he spent most of his time on
the left. That aside, he is strong, holds the ball up well, and should
become an integral part of the Liverpool side once the team settles.
At the time of going to press was one of several Premiership stars who
were looking for World Cup success with Norway. Stop Press: Played three
times for Norway in France '98, before the side were eliminated in the
second round by Italy.
