Gray, Denis, 1998, 'Red Shift - King of the Beat 7"', Vicious Kitten Magazine, Issue 9, December 1998.
Red Shift are a killer outfit from Melbourne who kick out straight forward no-nonsense rock-n-roll. I only got one spin of their new 7" 'King of the Beat' once as it blew my speakers!
Think the much-missed Freeloaders doing battle with the Cosmic Psychos and you'll get the picture. Very very rockin'!
The flipside contains a harmony-laced, Lime-Spider flavoured stormer called 'Skeletons in the Closet', plus a rip-and-tear take of the Saints 'One way Street'. Tough sounding, hard-as-fuck marsupial punk from out of Victoria which you definitely need to hear. Bruising rock-n-roll never sounded better. D for devastating.
