Review written by Audrey
Nicholas, who e-mailed me
this review! Thanks!
I went to Lilith Fair in Nashville on Sunday. It was so incredibly
hot that it was almost unbearable! This was my first year going. Some
friends of mine went last year and they weren't as impressed with the
booths and general layout as they were with the 98 show. However,
seeing as how I had nothing to compare it to, I thought it was
awesome! With the exception of the heat it was wonderful. I got lots
of cool free stuff and I got an autograph of Ginger Mackenzie...She
is only a Village stage performer but she helped pass the time and
she wasn't that bad. The main stage performers provided some
excellent entertainment. The Pretenders went on just about the same
time the sun went down. They were just as cool as ever and Emmylou
Harris put in a surprise performance. Sheryl Crow also did a grand
job, and she too was joined by Emmylou Harris. Then off course there
was Sarah, who obviously hyped it all up. It was probably the best
live performance of anyone I have ever seen. The woman has definitely
got talent. I thoroughly enjoyed her music. She is even better
onstage than her CD's ever gave her credit for. She sang Possession
first and then I think Hold on was next. She did Adia and one song
that I just can't remember the name of. Of course she did the
crowd-pleaser Ice Cream. Her encore was Angel. She sang Happy
Birthday-along with the crowd-to one of her guitarists. The very last
song that combines all the other performers was the best. Wynona Judd
came out with everyone. I am not that big of a country fan but I do
like select people. Wynona rocked the place without a doubt.
Overall... it was a great show and I am really glad that I didn't
pass it up this year. Anyone who has the opportunity to go should
take advantage of it.
