Review written by Courtney, who e-mailed me her review! Thanks
Courtney!
On August 17, 1999, I attended the
Fair in Cleveland, Ohio at Blossom music center. This was the first
concert that I have ever been too. I absolutely loved it. When my mom
and I first arrived at Blossom we bought three shirts and it took
forever. When we finally had sat down in our seats we had to wait
like two hours before it started on the main stage. While we were
waiting I had heard some cheering and I looked over and to my
surprise it was Sarah Mclachlan. I almost took a picture but I didn't
get my camera out in time. Oh well. It started out with Deborah Cox,
whom I didn't really recognize but I enjoyed hearing her. She had a
really good voice. Then Liz Phair performed next. I liked her a
little better than Deborah Cox. My mom and I both think that Liz
resembles the one blond lady from the NBC show, Suddenly Susan. After
Liz the Dixie Chicks performed and that's when the place started to
really get loud. I was surprised though. For some reason I didn't
think the country rock was that popular here. I really enjoyed them.
The one who plays the violin had really cool red shiny pants on.
After they finished Sheryl Crow came out. She was really awesome. But
during her performance I started feeling really sick. So I had to go
to the bathroom and I missed her performing my favorite song. I was
so mad. I still loved her though. After Sheryl came it was time for
Sarah Mclachlan. She was phenomenal. Every song she sung I could sing
along with her. It was pretty looking back at the rest of the
audience when she performed I Will Remember You, Hold On, and Angel
(Deborah Cox performed Angel with her) because a lot of people had
their lighters lit and in the air. I wish I had one with me. The
finale was really cool also. I loved the scenery throughout the whole
concert. I also took pictures throughout the whole thing but I still
have to get them developed. I hope they return sometime in the future
with another Lilith Fair.
