It's a shame, because once upon a time Clapton was a lot more than just another rock star for a year or two, he was worshipped as the greatest guitar player ever!!!
During the period between Clapton's first recordings with the Yardbirds in 1964 and his temporary retirement after 1970's Layla, Eric Clapton still succeeded marvelously in popularizing an energetic blend of electrified blues and acidified rock.
It would take me forever to sit here and type out all his accomplishments, and tell you about all the different bands Eric played in. Besides there are plenty of real nice Clapton WebSites out there you can find detailing everything he's ever done.
This page is just a small piece of the pie and my personal tribute to one of the all time greatest guitar players to ever live. I hope you enjoy this page as much as I did putting it together. Also I'd like to thank my Rock-N-Roll partner, White_Feather, for again coming through with some awesome pics for this page. Thanks W/F!!!
When One mentions "Eric Clapton" first thing that comes to my mind is "GOD". Well maybe he's not GOD, but when he has a guitar in his hands, he might as well be. Clapton won't need an introduction for most 60's rock fans, but many folks know him only from his later soft-rock offerings.
