The band Mortification was formed out of another group called Lightforce. These guys were just coming into Christian Metal as I was leaving. I thinks these guys rock and if I would have stayed interested in Christian Metal these guys would have been my favorites. It's too bad I missed out on these guys. All hope isn't lost though. I bought the Greatest Hits album. I truly love there music. On September 20th '96 Steve Rowe was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukaemia. But thanks to the many prayers and most of all God, Steve has recovered and the group put out a new album and even toured. Mortification has adopted more of a regular heavy metal sound now. Don't get me wrong these guys still rock with the best, they're not glam. But the Days of death metal growls are over for now.
