Pusher was taken off the F/X schedule because FOX is planning to rerun it over the holidays because Kitsunegari is the sequel to it. This was confirmed by Autumn Tysko on atx, and she's pretty darn reliable. It has also been said that FOX has confirmed that Vince Gilligan is the writer of Kitsunegari.

11/18/97

Dean Haglund revealed on KROQ on Monday that the Lone Gunmen will be featured in an episode later this season written by William Gibson
Post-Modern Prometheus is said to guest-star Cher, Jerry Springer, and John O'Hurley. Here's your pop culture references, I guess.

Rumor on Kitsunegari is that Modell (from Pusher) is the one doing the hunting of the Fox. I don't know if we can safely assume that Vince Gilligan (who seems rather prolific this season) is the writer.
Krycek will be back in time for the traditional Feburary Sweeps boyfic two-parter.

The final word is that Kitsunegari means "fox-hunting." In this eppy, The Dynamic Duo go to a town where children are seeing a monster, and no one believes them but Mulder.

Post-Modern Prometheus has been (or will be) renamed "The Great Mutado." It is in b&w, whimsical and full of pop references, and is Chris Carter's homage to old monster movies. It is in a comic book format (whatever that means) and involves Scully and Mulder investigating a pregnancy.
Kitsunegari is the Japanese word for WereFox or foxy, as in sly. The name might, however, change. Could this be a Mulder-turns-into-a-werewolf story?
In Unusual Suspects, The Lone Gunmen meet while being arrested with the infamous Naked!Mulder. Byers then relays to Det. Munch that he was enchanted by a women at an electronics convention who claims that Mulder is her crazy ex. This eppy is supposedly among the best and is absolutely hilarious (not suprising, considering St. Vince wrote it).

11/10/97

Part 2 to Christmas Carol is rumored to be named Emily (after the girl Scully attempts to adopt?). Also, Mulder will be in the second part as a main character.
In Detour, Scully believes Mulder is abducted when they become seperated in Florida on the way to an FBI function (fanfic anyone?) and Mulder gets mauled by some type of forest monster.

11/05/97

Christmas Carol is evidently set at Bill Scully's house. Scully visits her brother's family in San Diego for the holidays, and gets a phone call from a ghost, whom she believes is Melissa, but Bill thinks she's just making things up. The ghost may have something to do with the Allentown women. Also, without Mulder there, Scully becomes the intuitive one and her brother takes over her usual role.

11/04/97

The two characters who die in Redux II are Blevins, who apparently knew it was a set-up when he assigned Scully to the X-Files, and Cigarette Smoking Man, who we know isn't dead, since he's in the movie, but is at least off the show for a little while.
The Samantha that returns in Redux II is the genuine article. She believes CSM is her father, and he acts like it. So I guess we're not going to have a "Luke, I am your father" scene. Also, Samantha becomes too overwhelmed by the situation and leaves, saying she will be back in contact with Mulder.

11/03/97

The de-ionized water seen in Redux is used to perserve a microchip like the one previously removed from Scully's neck. Apparently, the removal of the microchip caused the cancer, so if another is implanted, her cancer will be cured. A little too close to a deux ex machina miracle to me. However, it does explain how the MUFON women got their cancer.
Two unnamed people die in Redux II: One permanantly, the other obviously faked. Advance word is that CSM is the one whose death is faked, I'm betting on the other being the real, adult Samantha or Skinner. Also, shipper alert: Redux II contains serious shippiness, including two kisses on the cheek and a scene in which Mulder crys at Scully's bedside.

TV Guide summary for Redux -- "The fifth-season opener of The X-Files offers Part 2 of a three-part storyline, which details the 24 hours before Mulder's "suicide." During that time, he finds evidence supporting the theory that his work is based on a hoax involving the military and the FBI."
Post-Modern Prometheus is written by J. Ransom and directed by Chris Carter. E! News Daily showed Mulder and Scully in the office reading a newspaper. (anyone have a screen capture? email me at danixfiles@hotmail.com.)
Christmas Carol will have Mulder in it, but he only appears in brief scenes, such as in Never Again. It is rumored that Scully tries to adopt a child with cancer, but the social worker is concerned about her work hours.
5X07 (as yet untitled) will be written by Chris Carter, Frank Spotnitz, Vince Gilligan, and John Shiban (The four who wrote Memento Mori). Expect this episode to be part 2 to Christmas Carol.

Writers for the first six of season five: Redux: Chris Carter; Redux II: Chris Carter; Unusual Suspects: Vince Gilligan; Detour: Frank Spotnitz; Post-Modern Prometheus: Chris Carter; Christmas Carol: The Leonard Betts Triumvirate (Gilligan, Spotnitz, & Shiban).
Post-Modern Prometheus may be directed by Chris Carter, and could be in Black & White. Also, the idea is being thrown around that this story harkens back to Frankenstein, rather than the myth of Prometheus.
Christmas Story is to be a two-parter, with Mulder only present in the second half. It could involve Scully trying to adopt a child dying of cancer. This is the same episode in which Scully hears the voice of her own unborn child. Looks like major ScullyAngst.
Richard Belzer from Homicide, in a big November Sweeps stunt-casting move, will appear in Unusual Suspects as his character, Det. Munch. He will arrest the Lone Gunmen and the infamous "naked, jabbering" Mulder in Baltimore. Unusual Suspects has really good buzz around it (The suits at Fox apparently loved it), and will also see the reappearance of Deep Throat and The Thinker.
Redux II (they still haven't come up with a real title for the thing) could end Scully's cancer and finally solve the mystery of Mulder's true parentage. Duchovny stated in one of his interviews for Playing God that he thought it was the best of the three.
We could see the return of the Alien Bounty Hunter (unseen since Herrenvolk), the adult Samantha clone, and the return of Jose Chung (who is also appearing in Millenium this year) later in the season.
