..."That's the grimmest rock I've ever seen..."—passerby commenting on facial expression of  a certain stone gargoyle.
 
          Soon after hatching, Grim-Rok was magically transformed into a human (similar to Puck's reversal spell)  by an unknown group of humans who knew that he had little chance of surviving on his own.  He was adopted by human parents (selected for their open-mindedness and some magical abilities) who prepared for 18 years to tell him who he really was.

          During his life as human Grim-Rok trained in Kung-Fu and various styles of kick-boxing.  At 17 he won the provincial middle-weight kick-boxing  championship. Then at 18 he took the national title in Kung-Fu: sparring & weapons.  After achieving this, as well as stories of other gargoyles hitting the media, Grim's parents told him the truth, that he is not a human and never was. After the spell was reversed by his father, he decided to drop his career plans of being a police officer and then left home in search of  other gargoyles who could show him his heritage and way of life.
 
          Grim, although young (for either a gargoyle or human) is still a very capable fighter and may be the best in North America.  However his hand-to-hand prowess is hampered by the fact that, being raised as a human, he never learned to fly.  This is the cause of many scary take-offs and crash landings.  Also, due to his fighting skills and new found insecurities, Grim is prone to bullying others, However he is quick to apologize and soon becomes a strong ally and a good friend.

          Grim is usually seen in boxing shorts or silk kung-fu pants.  Out of habit he still wears tape on his knuckles and feet when fighting.   Grim is 7'11 , with gray skin and small eye-ridges.

          On his " journey of discovery" Grim first met Titanic , who promptly introduced him to wingless. He also 'discovered ' that, "........Wow, gargoyle chicks have legs up to ya ya!".
