Maui is a rebel. There may be some
hidden cause for this , but noone knows because the other females of her
Clan were afraid to ask. Not that she could have answered.
She doesn't quite know why she is the way she is, she just accepts it.
Her original clan in Britain, didn't seem to "appreciate" her uniqque personality.
Her illustrious leader, Greystark, had frowned upon all that she
did, no matter how hard she would try to prove her worth to him.
In fact, the only person who truly respected her was an elderly female
named Clover. Clover, the storyteller of the clan, respected and
encouraged the young Maui's high hopes for life and all of her aspirations.
Maui would sit in her company for hours at a time, listening to her elder's
stories of fabulous hunts and magical quests. Maui cared to think
of the two as a clan onto themselves, and she didn't think of the rest
of her clan as her real clan, rather visitors from foreign clans.
This suited her just fine. Not only was Clover a wonderful storyteller,
she was an excellent huntress as well. Realizing that she was getting
on in years, Clover took it upon herself to teach the young Maui all that
she knew. She called upon her great friend, Dublin, to help her teach
the young warrior the ways of the sword. Maui caught on quickly,
and soon, with the help of the two gargoyles, she was a master huntress,
sword fighter, and, a master with a Bo-staff. With this, her favorite
weapon, and a small dagger, Maui would go out every night and do the hunting
for her mentor, who was now too weak to leave the castle, and Clover would
reward her with more tales of mirth and magic. Life was good to the two
gargoyles for many months until, one fateful night, Clover was killed in
a Castle raid by rogue gargoyles. Maui, greif stricken by the loss
of her only true family, decided to take her life into her own hands.
That same night, she packed up her few belongings, and flew to the nearest
city in search of a new life. When she arrived, instead of finding
peace and long life, she found a pack of gun toting, trigger happy lunatics
that chased her all through the village to the harbour. Enraged,
yet still cautious, she fled to the nearest boat and hid behind a large
pile of boxes in the little ships hold. To her her good luck
and fortune, the ship was bound for Canada. after a few agonizing
days of seasickness and hunger, the boat docked in Newfoundland,
and
she was once again on her own. 
She travelled West, perhaps in search of gargoyles, but mostly in search
of adventure. After a few months, she found herself in the place
the humans called "The Capital of Canada", Ottawa. She decided to
stay there for awhile and see the sights. On one of her nightly visits
to the Parliament buildings, she caught a glimpse of blue dissappearing
around the side of the peace tower. Silently, she followed in pursuit,
curious to see if there were others such as herself in this lovely city.
upon further inspection, she realized the person she had been following
, was of all things, a wingless blue Gargoyle. Enchanted, and VERY
curious, she decided to follow him. To her surprise, the Gargoyle went
to the Carleton University. After a few hours, he came out again
and began his journey to wherever once again. As he slipped into
a park, Maui saw her chance and alighted in front of him. Starteled, but
not that all surprised, the gargoyle, who pronounced that his name was
Wingless, invited the young lone Gargoyle to join his Clan. Maui
accepted, and now resides with the Can Clan. Maui's rovings are no
more. She has found her true Clan.
