Wow!, it's been quite some time since I updated this thing. Again I do apologize
for my nasty slacking off. Just so everyone knows for sure, the operation went
ok, and I'm feeling a little better these days. A belated thanks for all the
well wishes.
Well, now for the updates. As most of you know, The annual Gathering
of the Gargoyles is set to take place in late June. This year, of course
it's happening in Los Angeles, California! Being so close to Hollywood...Not
to mention Disney Studios, there is going to be an incredible amount of guests
attending this year-from well known actors like Marina Sirtis(from "Star
Trek-The Next Generation" fame), Ed Asner(of "Mary Tyler Moore"
& "Lou Grant"), as well as the voices of Lexington, Angela, Owen,
Matt Bluestone, and many others. As well, the series music composer, along with
many animators, writers, and of course-Gargoyles series creator Greg Weisman!(for
a complete list of guests-click
here).
News Update: Amazing what 24 hours can make(Hums the song "what a difference
a day makes). Over the last couple of days my chances for going to the gathering
seemed in jeopardy. In fact, yesterday it looked like I had no hope of getting
there. The reason being-many of the airlines feel that "large" people
should have to pay for a second seat. Being one of those "large" people,
I found myself being threatened by that possibility-which would have finished
my chances for attending. Yesterday when I called the airline, I had asked them
what their policy was in this situation. I was told "Use 2 seats, pay for
2 seats". No matter what I said, this person didn't give me much of a choice-Pay
or Cancel. This left me no choice but to cancel my flight. This left me feeling
like a second class citizen..and very devastated. In the end I turned to my
friends for comfort and support...and I got that in spades. IRCGoliath, Maui,
Titanic, Nytengale, StampLady, Arno, Whitbourne and many others helped me to
realize that I shouldn't give up so easily. I should call back and try again.
Well, I did exactly that - I talked with a very pleasant and helpful woman who
kept me on the phone for over an hour and we worked things through. My flight
has been re-instated and it appears now that im going to attend!!! I'm not 100%
certain I won't be delayed a little in arriving, but being legally blind, I'm
going to get all the help I need and American Airlines says they're going to
do everything they can to get me there. I'm amazed at the change in treatment
in a mere 24 hours, but I now at least feel like I am part of the human race
after all(which is the way all Gargs should be treated:o)
Again, thanks to all my friends for their wonderful support and encouragement.
I don't know what I would do without you all. *Group hug*
For those of you watching Gargoyles in Canada, Family channel is indeed finally
airing the episodes in the correct sequence order at last. The fact that the
episodes were originally numbered in the order they were produced has thrown
even Toon Disney off of airing them correctly. After contacting family channel
Canada a number of times, they have accommodated us fans and corrected things
for us. Thank you so much Family channel:o).
As for Season 3 "Gargoyles-The Goliath Chronicles", I have had a number
of people ask me if Family Channel will air those 13 episodes. Initially I had
been told yes-and they were supposed to begin airing last fall. Of course, we
know that isn't the case. I contacted Family channel again about it, and I got
the following reply from
Marcia Andreychuk-Viewer Relations, Family Channel Canada
" It was our understanding that we would be getting The Goliath Chronicles
last fall. As it turned out, there had been a bit of a miscommunication. We
still hope to acquire the rights, however the whole business of obtaining broadcast
licenses can be quite complicated. At this time I do not have an update for
you other than that we will do our best to get The Goliath Chronicles. We know
how much Gargoyles fans would like to see them.
As long time Garg fans know, these 13 episodes are not considered to be the
same quality as the original 65 episode run in Syndication. Since these 13 eps
were made for Saturday morning network TV rather than syndication, and production
on them was rushed-not to overlook the fact that series creator Greg Weisman
was only involved with the first episode of the Goliath Chronicles. For those
who haven't seen them, you might well be disappointed when you do finally get
the chance, but for history's sake, they are at least interesting to see.
Now for some sad news for those of us fans of Dylan Blacquiere's fanfic series.
He informs me that he has to give up the rest of his series. There will still
be one more last story posted. Keep your eyes on the Can
Clan library for it's arrival. Not to fear though, Dylan is not putting
down his pen. He has begun to write a novel! Not Garg related of course, but
will no doubt be riveting reading.
In website news, I'm sure some of you have noticed our comment & chat rooms
become non-functional. Our friend Hudson has offered to supply us with a new
one sometime in the future. So, keep your eye on those main page links. Hopefully
they will be up and running soon.
As well, I have gotten a number of requests from people wanting to join the
clan. Well we are indeed still taking new recruits, it does take me a little
while to get back to you. If you'd like to join, all you really need to be is
Canadian, and a Gargoyles fan(Non Canadians can also become honorary membersby
having a Can clan member sponsor you, just contact one of us and we'll do just
that). Simply send your name, and email address. You are also required to create
an original gargoyles character for yourself and write a short bio about your
character(2-4 paragraphs). Just email them to canclan@home.com.
Well, Thai's about it for this update. Hope to get to do this again very soon:o)
...and now for the pic of this update
