Lucy is alarmed when she finds out she has gained 22 pounds since getting married to Ricky. Plus, Ricky needs a girl dancer for a part in an upcoming show, but the girl must be able to squeeze into the small costume made for the previous girl. Lucy first tries jogging around the apartment building, but takes off less than half a pound. She stops eating normally, munching celery while the others eat steak and potatoes. Finally, Lucy resorts to a steam cabinet. Will this "human pressure cooker" reduce her to the needed size...?
The song "Cuban Pete/Sally Sweet" was part of Lucy and Desi's 1950 vaudeville tour, which convinced CBS honchos to invest in I Love Lucy.
The Mertzes' dog, Butch, has a part in one scene during this episode, but he was never seen again after this appearence.
This episode marked the first on-screen appearence by Marco Rizo, the accomplished pianist who was also Desi's long-time friend.
