Outcasts

It was night in Hazzard County. The full moon shone down brightly on the small town. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. Luke stood out by Hazzard Pond, skipping stones across the water's surface. The moon cast an eerie reflection on the water. He wanted to just forget about everything that had been happening lately. He wished it was all a bad dream, but he knew it was no dream, it was real. Everything had gone totally down hill, in just a short time the life the Dukes had always known had been destroyed. The Dukes were now considered outcasts and everyone in Hazzard was trying to drive them out of town. They were no longer friends with Cooter Davenport and Boss Hogg and Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane were trying anything to get them out of town. At first it was just small subtle things, however it was steadily growing worse. At times it was even leading to violence. Luke sighed deeply he wished there was something he could do to protect everyone to keep them safe. Luke always felt it was his responsibility to look after his younger cousins.
There was a rustling sound coming from the bushes behind Luke. He turned around quickly and looked for he source of the sound. He thought it may be some towns people. He didn't see anyone and started to fear the worst. He couldn't see anything, the sound of gun fire filled the silence of the night. Luke's body was struck by many bullets. He fell down to the ground, in a pool of blood, gasping to catch his breath. His body was filled with a hot stabbing pain. He tried to get up but couldn't. He knew that his death was coming.
A figure emerged from the bush. Luke tried to raise his head to see who it was but couldn't. A thick fog surrounded him. The figure grew closer, but Luke still couldn't tell who it was, because the person was wearing a long black cloak that trailed out far behind them. Luke started to feel weaker and laid his head back down on the ground. He noticed that the figure was actually hovering above the ground. Luke's started to become frantic. He wanted to get up and run away. He sensed that what ever the creature before him was, it was evil. The creature knelt down beside Luke's dying body.
"Do you want to avenge what is being done to you and to your family. Make them all pay for what they have done. Make them pay for turning you and your family into outcast. Pay for killing you." the creature asked, it's voice was very deep.
"Yes. I do."Luke replied, his voice weak, just talking sent a fresh stabbing pain through  Luke's lungs.
The figure pick Luke up and held Luke inches in front of itself, then raised the cloak and surrounded Luke with it. Luke felt as though an icy hand went through his chest and was grabbing his heart. He could feel the beating of his heart slow. His whole body went cold, then his heart stopped. At a far end of the graveyard a headstone appeared baring Luke's name.
Bo tried was trying to hard to fight off his attackers, but there was too many, five on one was not exactly fair odds. One hit him across the head with something and Bo feel to ground. He struggled to get up, but another kicked him in the ribs and he dropped to the ground. A couple of the started to repeatedly kick Bo. Then one stepped on Bo's back and grabbed the back of his hair, and pulled his head up. Someone knelt down in front but Bo couldn't tell who it was. His whole body was throbbing in pain and his vision was blurred be the blood covering his left eye.
"Give it up Bo. Leave Hazzard well you still can. This is a warning. Your final warning. we already finished off your pathetic cousin. We filled Luke full of bullets." the person said and laughed.
Bo immediately recognized the voice, it was Cooter. Bo struggled to lunge at him, but couldn't break from the hold, of whoever had him pinned against the ground.
A few minutes later Luke woke up. He began to start to walk back towards the farm. He was walking along Mill Pine Road, when he saw the headlights of two cars sitting in the middle of the road. As he grew closer to them, one car sped away, but the other one remained. Luke grew closer to the car and immediately recognized the care,  it was the General.  Luke started to walk quicker towards the car. As Luke neared the car he noticed that it had been quite smashed up. He saw Bo sitting against the car. Bo's arms were around his ribs, his knees drawn up, with his head resting upon them. Bo was slightly trembling and as Luke knelt down by Bo he could hear Bo softly crying.
"Bo." Luke said placing a hand on Bo's shoulder.
Bo slightly raised his head but didn't look at Luke. " Luke . . .  they said . . . I thought . . . you were dead."
"Bo . . . stop crying." Luke said firmly.
Bo just put his head back down, not listening to Luke. He couldn't stop the tears of pain, he was relieved that Luke wasn't dead, he wanted to listen to Luke but he couldn't stop the tears.
"Bo, look at me." Luke said firmly.
Bo raised his head and looked at Luke. Luke had his hand raised to smack Bo to stop his crying, but he dropped his hand when he saw Bo's face. Bo's face was bruised and there was a large cut on his left temple, and blood was freely flowing down the side of his face and over his eye. Luke
saw pain in Bo's eyes.
"Oh . . ." Luke said his voice trailing off, not really knowing what he should say.
Bo bite back his tears and wiped the blood away from his eyes. He looked at Luke and saw something different. He didn't know what it was but it was something he never saw in Luke before. Bo's ribs were aching and his whole body dully throbbed, he dismissed it has just being his imagination that something was different with Luke.
Luke pulled Bo into a hug. "We'll make them pay for this. We shall make them pay for what they have done." Luke said. Then in one swift movement, Luke took his knife and slit Bo's throat. Luke felt Bo go immediately limp in his arms, and he gently laid Bo's body back down on the road. "I'm sorry Bo, but it is for the best."
A stone with Bo's name appeared next to Luke's. Luke sat Beside Bo, he sat watching as Bo's injuries slowly started to heal themselves. Though that wasn't what he was paying any attention to. He couldn't believe that he had just killed his best friend, the person who had always been like a brother to him. He closed his eyes and prayed silently to himself that he had done the right thing, and he had not been deceived into thinking that Bo would in fact live again.
A few minutes later he woke up, all his injures had healed. The General was in no shape to be driven, in fact they couldn't even start the engine, so they started to walk towards home, not speaking a word to one another. Bo walked staring straight ahead not even looking at Luke. Luke glanced over at him a couple times. He hoped that he hadn't destroyed their friendship, with what he had done. Luke thought it was for the best, because now, nobody could ever hurt him again. Luke wanted to ask Bo if he hated him, but he couldn't think of how to ask, so he remained silent.
Further down the road the saw Dixie alongside the road with a flat tire.
"Hey Daisy." Bo said as they approached.
Daisy looked at them and gave a small smile of relief to see them.
Bo noticed that her shirt was torn and there was a smear of blood on her right cheek. "What
happened?" he asked concernedly.
      "I . . . they attacked me . . ." Daisy said her voice trailing off.
"Did they hurt you really bad?" Luke asked.
"No . . . not too bad, just hit me once and . . . threatened me telling me to get out of Hazzard cause I wasn't wanted here." Daisy said, her voice slightly trembling.
Bo gently hugged her, trying to reassure her that everything would be okay.
Luke looked at Bo, and then mentally talked to Bo. 'We have to kill her. S she will join us in making those who made us outcasts pay.'
Bo took out his knife to kill her, which Daisy didn't notice. Bo then lowered the knife.  'I can't . . . I can't hurt her . . . I can't . . .' Bo thought sending his thoughts to Luke..
Luke sighed and walked up behind her and plunged the knife into her back. She looked up at Bo, pain filled her eyes.
"It'll be okay Daisy." Bo said softly, as he felt her body go limp in his arms
Her stone appeared by Bo and Luke's. Bo picked her up and got into the Dixie, and drove back to the farm.
Bo laid her down on the couch in the front room and sat with Luke in the kitchen.
"She will be okay right?" Bo asked concernedly
"She'll be fine. Just like when I was killed and I killed you." Luke said bluntly.
Bo looked away from Luke.
Luke's gaze softened, as he saw tears in Bo's eyes. "It is the only way Bo."
"Is it really?" Bo asked not looking at Luke.
     "Yes, it is Bo."
"You know before this I thought if I was going to get killed it would be by one of them.
I was so wrong. I never thought you would kill me. I trusted you with my life, Luke." Bo said looking at his cousin.
Luke got up and stood next to Bo and put his arm around Bo's shoulder. "I am sorry Bo. I didn't really kill you though, you are still alive. It was the only way to keep you save, to keep them from hurting you again."
     "I know." Bo replied sullenly.
Daisy walked into the room moments later. She smiled and walked over and sat at the table.
"What about Uncle Jesse?" Bo asked.
Jesse was currently out working in the field, they hadn't gone out to tell him about what had happened.
"We can tell him later, and have him join us when the time is right." Luke said.
"Will he be save until then?" Daisy asked.
Luke nodded. They were silent for a couple moments. Luke finally spoke breaking the silence.
"We need to build our strength by killing those who wronged us." Luke said.
Then they left the farm, and began their killing spree. Just before dawn they returned home.
Jesse had fallen asleep waiting for them to come home. He woke up when he heard them come in.
"Where have the three of you been?" Jesse asked his voice fraught with worry.
"We just had a few things to take care of, we are fine." Luke said.
Daisy sat down by Jesse and softly touched his arm and looked deep into his eyes. "Don't worry about us when we are away. We can take care of ourselves. Everything will be okay in time."
Jesse only nodded then fell asleep again
"Couldn't we have just told him the truth?" Bo asked.
Luke shook his head. "No. Not yet."
"But it don't feel right lying to Uncle Jesse." Bo said.
"It is for the best Bo. I know what I am doing." Luke said.
     "Could've fooled me." Bo said.
Luke narrowed his eyes at Bo. "Would you have rathered I left you for dead at the side of the road?"
Bo shook his head turning away from Luke. Though Luke still saw the hurt his words had caused Bo. He went over and put a hand on Bo's shoulder. "I'm sorry Bo. I didn't mean that. I guess I'm just a little stressed out right now.  I never would leave you for dead, and you let be hurt. You know that don't you?"
Bo nodded saying nothing. Their killing spree continued for a number of days.
Night was falling in Hazzard. There was a smell of death in the air. Luke smiled evilly at his cousin Bo.
"So cousin . . . Are you ready to go?" Luke asked.
"Yes . . . as soon as Daisy gets here we can go . . . go kill them for the pain they have caused us." Bo said.
Daisy pulled her jeep to a stop alongside where Bo and Luke waited. She noticed that Bo's  face has a sad look on it.
"What will happen to Uncle Jesse?" Bo asked, looking at Luke.
"He will soon be with us . . . we are the outcasts." Luke said.
Jesse sat on the couch at her house. The farm had been trashed for a no good reason, other than people wanting to kill him and his family ." For what?" he thought. The kids had left the farm many nights in a row, never telling him where they were going, always telling him not to worry. He thought about the  killings began without warning. All people who were associated with the Dukes. He wondered if they had anything to do with it.
An hour later he heard a car pull up, he immediately reconginized the sound of the engine, and knew it was  the General Lee. He went outside to greet them and stopped. He noticed for the first time how different they looked. They no longer seemed to be the three children he had raised since they were babies. He took a step back.
"What's wrong?" Bo asked sensing his uncle's fear.
      "N . . .nothing . . .I just thought . . ." Jesse said, he found he didn't know what to say.
"Come on Uncle Jesse . . . come with us. We will save you. They will kill you if you don't." said Luke.
Jesse walked over to them, and Bo and Luke helped him into the General Lee. They drove away not speaking at all. Jesse hoped almost that he was dreaming.
They came to the Hazzard County graveyard. Bo, Luke and Daisy led him through it. There at the end of a row was the three gravestones.
      "That is a lie . . ." murmured Jesse.
"No Uncle Jesse, it is not a lie. . . it is  all true." Bo said.
"Then how . . . why . . . why are you here?" he asked.
"So you would not be alone." Daisy responded.
Luke nodded, "Dukes always stay together."
Jesse  smiled at them. "Dukes ALWAYS stay together."
Luke then stepped forward slit his throat, in one swift motion. In an instant Jesse's headstone was next to the kids.
After a couple moments Jesse woke up. He stood up and looked at his niece and nephews and smiled.  Jesse hugged each of them.
"I am not alone now." he said.
"We now shall finish off those that remain here in Hazzard. Those responsible for out torment. We shall kill those who made us outcasts" Luke said, and smiled evilly.
"Tomorrow shall be more then just a new day. It'll be the day we have achieved total revenge." Bo said.
Luke nodded. "The sunrise will mark more then just the dawning of a new day, it'll dawn a new era. We shall never again be treated as outcasts."
They all smiled at the thought and went to finish the work the started.
The morning sunrise was crimson red the colour of blood, and the sky froze in that colour all over the world the sky turned to that shade of red, never changing.. All over the world disasters began to happen. There was tidal waves, volcanic eruptions, tornados, avalanches and strong earthquakes measuring around 8 to 9 on the rirticer scale. There was a complete black out, world wide. The Dukes stood smiling at the total destruction the new day brought to the earth. The sunrise was the mark of a new era an era of hell on earth.
