Twisted Hazzard 3

The next year passed rather slowly in Hazzard County. It  was hard to get through, and at times everyone thought that we weren't gonna make it. Everyone thought it best this time to not deny what happened. They didn't talk about it very much, but this time they didn't make a rule against talking about They all struggled to keep their sanity, the evil still haunted them every day. They constantly thought about what had happened all the evil, all the destruction and all the death. Even though they could talk about it no one hardly ever talked about it, they couldn't bring themselves to actually discuss it. For the first few months everyone was plagued by nightmares. The nightmares slowly ceased for the most part, except for occasional dreams it. The whole experience had changed everyone. Some in just little ones for other ones it was major changes.
Daisy grew to be very withdrawn from the rest of the family, she for the most part kept to herself. Luke didn't change to much he became a little quieter and grew even more protective of his family, as well as Kris and Lexie. He had feelings for Lexie though he never told her, the only other person that knew how he felt about Lexie was Bo. The boys had remained very close and were still the best of friends. Bo changed the least. He matured quite a bit, but he didn't become withdrawn at all. Bo had feelings for Kris and everyone knew it, the two of them started to grow quite close. Kris became really quiet and kept to herself a lot. She grew quite depressed and verged on manic depressive at times. She would've if it hadn't been for Bo who stayed by her side and helped her through her depression. She was deeply in love with Bo. Lexie changed the most she was quite and rarely talked to anyone. She was deeply depressed, at times she felt that she was going insane she couldn't forget what happened. She still had dreams every night about the evil. Cooter didn't change at all. He still remained a very close friend of the Dukes and Lexie and Kris. He still ran the Hazzard County garage. Rosco didn't change much. He was still both Boss and Sheriff of Hazzard. He didn't try to run any scams or bring false charges on to the Dukes as he had at one time. He didn't have the heart to, he knew everything they went through had been extremely hard on them. Rosco still occasionally chased the boys for speeding, just for it to be like old times, and cause he still loved hot pursuit. However he didn't really chase them to catch them, it was just for the sake of hot pursuit. He hadn't given them a single speeding ticket. The boys knew that Rosco chasing them was all for fun, and it actually helped them to deal with what happened. It reminded them of the good ole days when they use to outrun Rosco to avoid getting phoney citations from him or to get away from some trumped up charge that had been thought up against them to have thrown in jail. It also helped to ease their troubled minds. Bo and Luke didn't actually race the General in any races, they just raced along the back roads of Hazzard. They thought about maybe in a few years they could bring themselves to enter a race or two but they couldn't just yet, the past still haunted them to much.
The next year was a lot better. Things were more like normal in Hazzard. They had all became very good friends. Bo and Kris had confessed their love to each other and at the start of the year had gotten married. They built an expansion on to the farm house and Bo and Kris lived there, as did Luke and Daisy. Lexie lived at the boarding house in town, she lived in Enos old place. At times that haunted Luke and he hated to even go there. Lexie was still having trouble moving on from what happened, she was still plagued with nightmares. Luke tried to comfort her the best he could, but it had little effect.
Daisy met a guy named Jareth, she started to fall madly in love with him. She became even more withdrawn from everyone. Bo and Luke both distrusted Jareth, though neither knew quite why they didn't like him. They thought it was best to just keep their mouths shut and not tell Daisy until they knew what it is about Jareth that seemed wrong. They thought if they told her and had no reason or proof for their distrust that she would never talk to them again.
Kris had almost completely got over her depression, there was still the occasion that she was depressed but it wasn't as often as it had been before. It helped that she had Bo to help her get through the hard times.
Luke had trouble expressing his feelings towards Lexie he wanted to tell her how much he cared for her, but he found when he tried he couldn't. He wasn't sure if it was just cause he thought that she might reject him or just some inability to really show his emotions after all that happen. He had never really been one to express his emotions but after all that happened he found it all harder. He had started to forgive himself for things he had done and the pain he caused people.  Finally, after talking to Bo about what he really thought about Lexie, Bo convinced him to just propose to Lexie. He convinced him that it was worth the chance to ask. Luke went over to see Lexie one day. He asked her and she happily excepted the offer.
When Luke had proposed to her Lexie felt happier then she had ever felt ever since the whole incident on Eagle Point. The joy slowly started to lift the dark cloud that had consumed her. She started to have fewer dreams about the evil and her psychological state started improve greatly. They were going to marry in mid-autumn.
It was a hot and humid summer day. It was hot even for being July 13. It was very humid and the meteorologist had predicted that this hot spell would last for a few more weeks.  Bo, Luke and Cooter had gone to Atlanta to see a NASCAR race. Lexie and Kris sat in the cafe, talking and eating ice cream and drinking iced tea. They were sitting near the window looking out at the street. The street was practically deserted everyone was staying indoors and trying to hide from the heat. Both Lexie and Kris were smiling and laughing as they talked.
Lexie played with the engagement ring that Luke had given her, then smiled. "I am so happy that Luke finally asked to me marry him. It seemed to lift some darl cloud off my soul, it was the happy moment in my life in such a long time."
Kris smiled. "Yeah I know that is much the way I felt when Bo proposed to me. Our wedding day was just like a dream. I never thought that after what happened that I could ever find true happiness, but I was wrong. Bo filled that void and brought me out of my depression."
"I can not wait to marry Luke. What is it about them two that makes them just so perfect?"
"They just got some kinda karma, I think the sweetness just runs in their family cause they are both sweet talkers. And just so . . ." Kris said.
"Perfect." Both Kris and Lexie said at the same time, then they both started to laugh.
Rosco came into the cafe and walked over to the table that they were sitting at.
"Hey Rosco, how ya doing?" Kris asked.
"I'm doin fine as wine. How you girls doin'?"Rosco questioned.
     "Doing just fine." Kris said.
"I'm doing just great." Lexie said.
"I heard about your engagement to Luke. What a goody goody for you." Rosco said with a big genuine smile of happiness for her.
     "Thanks." Lexie said.
"Well I gotta get back to work duty calls. Police work is my life." Rosco said, then picked up his order from the counter and left the cafe.
Daisy got to be very close to Jareth, though she didn't know he wasn't actually human. He was actually a demon sent by the evil that consumed Hazzard and held Bo and Luke in it's grasp. The evil was using Daisy as a pawn to get to Bo and Luke. Jareth slowly was infecting Daisy's mind with the power of the evil. Once he felt that her mind was infected with enough evil power he left. He left her to finish the job of bringing Bo and Luke back to Hazzard. Jareth gave Daisy a small dark stone, with had only a fraction of the power that the amulets had. Daisy started to use the power against Lexie, to get to Luke. Knowing Lexie's fragile, unstable state of mind she begin to increase her nightmares.
Lexie hadn't had a good nights sleep in about five days. She was starting to suffer from sleep depravation. Every time she even drifted into a light sleep she was haunted by nightmares of stuff that had happened when the evil had consumed her mind, and some nightmares were just about the evil in general.
Lexie tried to get sleep she wanted to be well rested for tomorrow because she was going out on a date with Luke to Capitol City. It didn't take long for her to fall into a deep sleep.
She dreamt that she was walking along a beach, the waves breaking around her bare feet. The sun beat down warmly upon her. Then the sky darkened with crimson clouds, and distant thunder filled the air. The water turned to blood, and the waves started to grow bigger. She tried to get off the beach but the waves pulled her out in to ocean. She struggled to keep her head above the surface but her attempts were futile in the churning waves. She felt hands grabbing her around her legs and arms trying pull her under. She tried to swim back to shore, she could feel the hands clawing at her. Eventually she reached the beach. A cold rain started to fall, Lexie stood up and started to walk away from the ocean, when she heard someone behind her. She turned around and saw Luke standing there his face was pale, and his body was covered with blood.
     "Hello Lexie." Luke said coldly.
"Luke . . . what?" Lexie asked unable to find the words that she wanted to say.
"The evil is not dead cause evil never dies. It has returned and it is your fault . . ." Luke started to say, then Bo and Kris appeared behind him.
They looked in about the same condition as Luke, they were pale and covered in blood.
"You killed us Lexie, it is your fault we died." Luke said then attacked Lexie. He knocked to the ground and pinned against the sand.
The sand felt as though it was fire, and was burning her skin.
"NO! That is true. The evil is dead, it is gone. I would never hurt . . . or kill you, any of you . . ."Lexie said, her voice slightly trembling.
"The evil is not dead, it has returned, it is not dead." Luke said darkly.
Lexie awoke from the dream. Her whole body was slightly trembling. She looked around the bedroom that was cloaked in darkness. No light from the moon even shone through the window. She slowly got out bed and walked into the kitchen to get a drink of water. As she walked her legs shook and she felt that she was going to collapse. She hadn't had a good nights sleep in at least five days. She turned on the kitchen light, it took a moment for her eyes to adjust. She took a glass out of the cupboard and turn on the faucet. She stared in horror as the faucet ran blood not water. She tried to scream but couldn't. She dropped the glass it shattered into tiny shards all over the floor. She ran for the bathroom. The broken glass cut her bare feet, but she ignored the pain. She turned the water on in the sink it to ran blood, not water, as did the bathtub faucet. She stood watching the blood flow her whole body trembling. The walls started to bleed. She could hear a distant voice calling out her name. She looked into the mirror, her reflection barely looked like her. It was ghastly white and covered in blood. Blood was pooling on the floor around her feet. She could insane laughter surround her it took a moment to realize it was her own laughter. She ran from the bathroom and went out to the front room. She sat down on the couch she tried to ignore the dream and what just happened. She repeated over and over to herself: "This can't be real. This can't be happening."
Lexie became aware of someone in the room with her. "Whose there?"
There was no response, Lexie could feel fear started to clench around her heart. Then someone stepped out from with the dark shadows of the far corner. As the figure stepped into the light of the moon Lexie saw that it was Daisy.
"Daisy what are you doing here?" Lexie asked.
Daisy didn't reply she smiled darkly at Lexie then Jareth stepped out from the shadows and walked over to Lexie.
"Are you ready to return?" Jareth asked.
"What are talking about?" Lexie asked nervously knowing what the answer was.
Jareth laughed. "Why return to the to allow it back inside you. You can't deny it, you belong to it."
Lexie stared blankly at Jareth she didn't have the will power to fight and in her weakened state of mind she merely gave in.     "Yes, I am ready."
Jareth smiled evilly. "Good." he said then placed his hand on her shoulder.
A gold light consumed Lexie. Once the light faded her flashed to black for a couple seconds before fading back to their normal colour. She smiled darkly.
"You can convince Luke the best to return, make him see it is where he belongs. Take him to Eagle Point, the temple has risen once more." Jareth said.
Lexie smiled evilly. I will bring him back tomorrow."
Lexie glanced down at the clock it read: 4:50.
Kris lay sleeping when the same dream that had plagued her the past nights started once again.
She was walking along one of the back roads in Hazzard, there was nobody anywhere around. She continued to walk along the road, then she heard someone behind her. She felt that she was moving in slow motion as she turned around. The temptature dropped quickly and dark clouds rolled in blocking the sun's light. She saw Bo standing there, and smiled.
"Bo... you startled me. Kris said.
Then her expression changed when she saw he was dressed in pure black.
"Bo what's going on?" she asked worriedly.
In a flash Bo was standing inches away from her. "Nothing is going on Kris."
She noticed his eyes were dark. "But..." she started to say.
Bo laughed, but the laugh was evil. "Okay let's see if you can guess."
     "It's the evil, ain't it?"
Bo smiled a dark, evil smile. "You got that right Kristina. The evil never dies. It still lives. It won't die, it can't die."
Kris felt tears in her eyes. "No." she said her voice shaking.
"It is true." Bo said then smiled, "Gee now why does this seem so familiar... oh yes it is a lot like something you once told me."
"Bo..." Kris started to say, but found she didn't know what to say.
"Evil never dies. On the other hand you can... and will. You are gonna be my first sacrifice to it."
Kris tried to scream, but couldn't make a sound. Bo laughed evilly and then pinned her to the ground. Kris saw the amulet around his neck, her eyes filled with tears of fear.
Bo just started to repeat the same words over and over as he shook her. "Evil never dies... evil NEVER dies.:
Kris started to cry. "NOOO!" she screamed.
This scream pulled her out of her sleep. She sat straight up her whole body shaking. Her scream had wakened Bo, he sat up beside her.
"Kris." he said gently and reached to put a hand on her shoulder.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Kris yelled and pulled away from Bo.
"Kris it was just a dream." Bo said softly.
     "No." Kris cried.
"Oh Kris, it's okay it was only a dream." Bo said and hugged her softly against him.
"Bo..." Kris said softly and buried her head against Bo's bare chest and cried.
"It's okay Kris . . . it's okay." Bo said softly as he hugged her and gently stroked her hair.
Kris was still crying. Bo just sat there quietly hushing her as he hugged her. After about thirty minutes she finally fell back asleep. Bo sat awake a few minutes longer before going back to sleep himself, still holding her in his arms.
The next morning when Bo woke up, Kris was still asleep. He decided to just let her sleep since she hadn't got much sleep the past few days. He started to prepare breakfast. A few minutes later Kris came out to the kitchen. Kris walked over to the cupboard to get a mug for coffee. She took a mug but it slipped from her fingers and crashed to the floor. Kris started to cry.
Bo walked over and out his arms around her. "It's okay baby." he whispered softly to her.
Kris stopped crying and sat down quietly at the table. Drying tears stained her face. Bo made Kris a cup of coffee, then gave it to her.
"Thank-you." Kris said her voice barely above a whisper.
Bo then cleaned up the shattered glass and threw it out, and finished preparing breakfast. Kris hardly even ate a bite of food.
Bo walked over and stood behind Kris and put his arms around her. "Do you want to talk about the dreams you've been having?"
Kris shook her head.
"I'm just . . . worried about you Kris. You've been having these dreams for the past few days."
"I'm fine Bo. Don't worry about it."
"Okay." Bo said and kissed the top of her head. "I'm not gonna stop worrying. I know something is wrong. There is something you are not telling me." he thought to himself.
Kris sat looking at the end of her coffee. "Why am I having these dreams? It's been so many years. It is dead it can't come back." she thought to herself.
Bo went outside to work on the tractor. He stopped by the door and turned to look at Kris. She looked so sad, her eyes were still red from crying. "Why do things have to be this way? Can't we all just find true happiness without something happening to destroy the joy we have found?" Bo thought to himself, then turned and left the house.
Luke arrived at Lexie's to pick her up to go to Capitol City. Lexie answered the door.
     "Hey Luke." she said cheerfully.
"Hey Lexie. You ready to go?"
"Actually I was thinking we could go somewhere else." Lexie responded.
     "Like where?" Luke asked.
     "It's a surprise." Lexie said.
     "Oh, okay."
"I ain't quite ready so why don't you just come on in." Lexie said holding the door open for Luke to enter.
Luke sat down on the couch and waited for Lexie to finish getting ready. It made him nervous to be in this place as it had been were Enos had lived. He started to think back to what had happened to Enos and a wave of guilt swept over him. He tried to push the bad memories from his mind. The memories hadn't haunted him so bad since after it had all ended last time. He sat staring at the curtain that gently billowed in the breeze. Fear clenched his heart when he thought he saw the beast that had been Enos that haunted him before. He clenched his eye shut and thought to himself. "Don't be stupid there is nothing there it is over." He feared to open his eyes sure that he would see the beast. He slowly opened his eyes to see that nothing was there.
Lexie walked over to Luke. "I'm ready."
They walked out to the car. Lexie got in behind the wheel, then turned to Luke and handed him a blindfold.
"Put  this on so it don't wreck the surprise." Lexie said she figured it would be easier if Luke didn't see where they were going so he couldn't stop the car.
A few minutes later they arrived at Eagle Point. They got out of the car, and Lexie led Luke to the steps of the temple. Then she took off the blindfold. Luke stared in horror at the temple. He couldn't think of what to say. He didn't want to believe that the evil had returned.
"We are here." Lexie said cheerfully smiling at Luke.
"Is this suppose to be some kind of joke?" Luke questioned.
"Oh it is no joke, it has risen again. Accept that this is where you belong it is who you are." Lexie said.
"Not a chance." Luke said backing away from the steps.
"Come on let's go into the temple." Lexie said.
Luke didn't want to enter the temple, but something pulled him into the temple. They walked through the dark corridors, that were lit only by a few sparsely spaced candle. Luke felt a shudder go through him, as he slowly walked through the corridors. He kept getting flashes of images of things that had happened in the temple. He could also hear dark voices taunting him with things he had done under the evil's power. Luke stopped and leaned against the wall.
"Come on Luke, don't be a slow poke." Lexie said and laughed darkly.
Luke started to continue through the corridors, which seemed longer then he remembered them to be. He then started to recall what had happened to Enos and a wave of guilt swept over him, but he continued walking. Then he remembered the scene from Jesse's room, what had been said and the beast that was Enos. Luke felt as though he was gonna pass out, with all these memories flooding back at once. Luke stopped walking and closed his eyes and waited for the feeling to pass.
"Hurry it up." Lexie said impatiently.
Luke opened his eyes, he still felt like he was gonna pass out, but he started walking forward once again. He remember how he thought he had lost Bo.
They were almost to the main room of the temple. He started to think of the time he had tried to kill Bo. It started to play out in his mind. Luke tried to block the memory but couldn't. Then the memory changed, ending differently. It seemed to go in slow motion as he watched himself kill Bo.
Luke couldn't block the image, he was sure that he could see Bo's blood staining his hands.
"NO! That is not what happened. I did not kill Bo . . . I wouldn't kill Bo." Luke said his voice trembling. Luke leaned against the wall and slide to the floor.
Lexie walked over and knelt down in front of Luke, placing a hand on his shoulder. Luke looked at her.
"It didn't happen that way I didn't kill Bo."
"No. It didn't happen that way, but it is the way you really wanted it to happen." Lexie said softly.
"That is not true, I wouldn't want that . . ." Luke's voice trailed off.
"It is true. It is what you really wanted to do. You wanted to kill Bo, otherwise you wouldn't have tried to kill him."
     "The evil made me I didn't . . . I wouldn't want to hurt him."
Lexie shook her head. "You didn't care that he was missing you abandoned him. You left him to die."
"NO! THAT IS NOT TRUE!" Luke yelled at Lexie.
"Maybe it is maybe it isn't." Lexie said. "Come on get up." she said pulling Luke to his feet.
Luke didn't want to continue he wanted to turn and run but found he couldn't hee allowed Lexie to lead him deeper into the temple to the main room.
They  reached the temple's main room. Luke's eyes rested upon the alter. He felt  the strongest urge to turn and run from the temple, but he suppressed it.
Lexie was standing by the alter. "Come here." she said her voice low and demanding.
Luke slowly walked over and stood by her.
"Touch the alter." Lexie said in the same tone as before.
Luke obeyed. The alter felt as though it were on fire. He tried to pull his hand away but found he couldn't. Luke felt the evil slowly seeping into his mind. He tried with all his might to fight it, but his efforts were futile. His mind became consumed by the evil. Lexie slid half the amulet around Luke's neck. Luke's eyes flashed dark and he smiled evilly. Luke walked over to the book, which sat on the pillar by the alter, and he started to chant a spell from it.
Outside dark clouds quickly gathered over Hazzard. Bright lightening flashed and thunder rolled.
Back at the Duke farm, Bo was working on the tractor when the storm started. Kris was inside, she looked out the window and saw the storm approaching. She went to the door.
     "Bo..." Kris called, nervously.
Bo got out from under the tractor, he looked at Kris, he had a small smudge of grease on his forehead. A strong wind started bending the trees. The clouds seemed to start to glow red. Bo started towards the house. He was just about there when a piece of flying debris, flew across the yard and struck him in the head. Bo fell to the ground.
"BO!" Kris yelled and rushed out to Bo's side.
"I'm fine." Bo said sitting up. A small trail of crimson blood slowly trickled down his temple.
Kris helped Bo to his feet, and they went inside the house. Outside the storm raged on. It started to pour rain. The rain beat steadily against the window. Kris got a cloth and antiseptic and cleaned the cut on his forehead, and held the cloth against the cut. She wiped off the smudge of grease. Bo could sense Kris's anxiety.
     "It's gonna be okay . . . it's just a storm." Bo said.
Bo's head was throbbing, he closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the couch. He felt darkness slowly starting to evade his mind. He tried to stay awake but his efforts were futile, he drifted into unconsciousness. He started to dream.

********************************************************************************
He was running through the deep woods. He could feel branches scrapping, his arms and legs, like claws. He could hear Kris and calling out to him and he continued through the trees. Finally he reached a clearing and the temple loomed in front of him. He wanted to run, but something forced him to walk towards the temple.
     "This can't . . . it can't . . ." Bo started to say, his voice slightly shaking.
"Evil never dies, Bo." Kris said her voice dark and evil.
Bo looked around to find Kris but didn't see her anywhere. He continued to walk towards the temple. Then he saw Daisy standing about six feet away from him, and next to her was Lexie.
He walked towards them then they both vanished, and Kris reappeared a few feet away.
"Kris." Bo called out to her.
But she just stood staring coldly at him. Bo ran towards her. When he was just a couple feet from her she vanished. Bo just stopped and stared at the temple. Then Luke appeared in front of him.
     "Hello Bo." Luke said coldly
Bo's heart was racing with fear. " Luke . . ."
"Silence mortal." Luke said, his voice cold and demanding.
Bo felt his legs give out from under him and he dropped to his knees. "No, this can't be happening. Not again."
"But it is cousin. It is."
Bo shook his head. A sword appeared in Luke's hand, he held it against the side of Bo's neck.
"You remember everything that happened here, don't you cousin?"
"I don't want to remember."  Bo said his voice soft.
"You have to you can't forget."
Bo just looked up at Luke. He saw the amulet around Luke's neck. "No . . ." he said softly his voice shaking.
Luke smiled evilly. "Yes cousin." he laid his hand against Bo's forehead. "Remember." he said firmly.
Memories of things that had happened flooded Bo's mind. He recalled when Luke had tried to kill him. His mind was flooded with images of that. He saw Luke beating him and holding the sword to his throat.
"I don't want to remember." Bo said trying to block the images.
"But you must remember it cousin. You must." Luke demanded.
More images flooded Bo's mind. This time they were of being locked in the small cell, all the things that Kris said echoed in his mind.
"I don't want to remember. Luke please I don't want to remember." Bo said his voice pleading.
"But you have to remember. The past is not that easily forgotten. Everything will be okay, you just have to remember." Luke said unemotionally.
Bo's mind was again flooded with memories. This time the images were of when he was gonna kill everyone, and was trying to kill Luke.
********************************************************************************
Bo started to wake up. He groggily opened his eyes.
     "Oh Bo . . . I was so worried . . . I couldn't . . . you wouldn't wake up . . ." Kris said. She had tears brimming her eyes.
     "I'm fine." Bo replied.
He didn't want to tell her about the dream and the images, cause he didn't want to upset her. He just tried to repress the memories that were surfacing, from the images he had just seen.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Kris asked concernedly.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry." Bo sais forcing a small smile.
Kris smiled and laid her head against Bo's chest. Bo put his arms around her and softly kissed her forehead.
"Don't worry Kris. Everything will be fine. I won't let anything happen. I promise." Bo thought to himself.
Outside the storm had blown over. It left just as quick as it had came. Back at the temple both Lexie and Luke stood on the temple's stairs. Both were dressed in black, their eyes dark.
"Time for us to have some fun." Luke said darkly.
"The evil has rose again from the ashes. And this time nothing or nobody will be able to delay the overtaking of this pathetic world." Luke said, and smiled evilly.
Jareth and Daisy appeared in front of them.
"The amulet grows stronger every time you use it's power. It'll take sometime for it to regain all the power it lost." Jareth said.
     "How much time?" Luke questioned.
"The more you use it the quicker it'll regain it's power. Every time it becomes stronger." Jareth said. "And the strong it's hold becomes on you." he added in thought.
"What about Bo and Kris?" Luke asked.
"You'll have to convince them to crossover yourselves. There is not enough power in the amulets to force them to join us." Jareth said.
     "What about Cooter?" Lexie  asked.
"He is an insignificant mortal, he matter not. If he gets in the way he will have to be exterminated." Jareth responded.
Luke and Lexie nodded in agreement.
Back at the farm Bo and Kris were still sitting on the couch. Kris had her head laid against Bo's chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart against her skin. She had her arms around him. Bo had one arm around her, and was gently stroking her hair with his other hand. He didn't want to get up from the couch, he just wanted to sit there holding Kris in his arms. He kept thinking back to the dream. He tried to force the thoughts from his mind and focus on his love for Kris and, as well as his close-bonded friendship with Luke.
Kris moved her head and looked up into Bo's deep blue eyes. "I love you, Bo." she said softly.
Bo smiled. "I love you to." he said in much the same tone. Then he passionately kissed her. Bo wished to himself that the kiss would never end. Because while they kissed the dream haunted him less. The dream seemed to matter less. Everything seemed fine, everything seemed perfect. But finally the kiss did end. Kris laid her head back against Bo.
"Nothing or nobody could ever change how much I love you." Bo said softly, his voice barely audible. "I won't allow it." he added in thought, and softly kissed the top of her head.
Suddenly a bright golden light flooded the room. They both filled with dread at the sight of the light. Lexie and Luke appeared in front of the couch.
"Hello cousin . . . Kris." Luke said looking at each as he spoke their name. His voice was filled with darkness.
Luke and Lexie were dressed in pure black, the amulets hung in view, and their eyes were dark. Kris cringed and leaned closer to Bo, and he held her tighter. Neither knew how to respond both were filled with fear at what was happening.
"Ain't you even gonna say hello?" Luke questioned evilly.
"Hello Luke, Lexie." Bo said flatly, trying to hide the fear in his voice.
"You're coming back to the temple with us." Luke said.
Kris was trying to keep from crying in fear, as hard as she tried though a couple tears rolled down her cheeks. Bo saw her tears and hugged her.
"We ain't goin' anywheres with you." Bo responded.
"You are wrong about that cousin. You are both coming with us." Luke said and smiled evilly.
Luke closed his hands around his amulets and golden light flooded the room once more, and the four of them vanished from the room.
They reappeared in the temple. Bo and Kris were in separate cells, deep within the temple. Bo sat on a small bench and stared at the door.
"You remember "this" cell, don't you cuz?" Luke asked, his voice dark.
Bo didn't respond, he just sat staring expressionlessly at the door. The candle in the cell was dimly burning, giving Bo just enough light to see the door.
Luke just smiled evilly. "It's the same cell that Kris had you in."
Still Bo didn't respond, but he diverted his gaze from the door to the wall.
"You remember that, don't you?" Luke asked.
     "Shut up." Bo said flatly.
"You should remember it and everything thing with that dream I sent you. It was all the truth. You did like the dream, didn't you?"
Bo glared at Luke, not responding to his question.
Luke laughed evilly. "What's wrong can't you handle the truth? Don't you remember all that?"
Bo looked back towards the door. "What do you think?" he asked sarcastically.
"I don't think you remember it well enough." Luke answered.
"What do you mean by that?" Bo asked.
"Well . . . you married Kris, and she don't love you one bit . . ." Luke started to say.
"Shut up! That is a lie." Bo said cutting Luke's sentence off.
"No it ain't cousin. It is the truth. I mean don't you remember what she did to you?"
"That was only because the evil." Bo said.
"Oh is that a fact. Here is another "fact", if it wasn't for the "evil" you wouldn't be with her. It was because the "evil" that you two are together." Luke said. "You can't deny that, can you?"
Bo didn't say anything.
Luke smiled evilly and laughed. "She never did love you at all, she is just using you."
"SHUT UP!" Bo yelled at Luke, his voice full of anger.
Luke appeared in the cell and stood a few feet in front of Bo. "What are you gonna do if I don't?"
"You think you are so smart why don't you figure that one out yourself." Bo said, trying to mask the fear in his voice.
"You are pathetic cousin." Luke said. "Kris hates you. Face the truth. Why would she love someone like you?"
Bo sat staring at Luke. He thought if he could the amulet off Luke it would help. He lunged at Luke. However, Luke sensed what Bo was gonna do. As Bo came at him, Luke grabbed the back of Bo's neck, then brought his knee up into Bo's ribs. Bo flinched and dropped to his knees, holding his ribs.
Luke laughed evilly. "See like I said cousin, you are pathetic."
Luke crouched down in front of Bo and grabbed his left wrist. Bo tried to pull away, he had his hand clenched shut. Luke squeezed his wrist tighter.
     "Open your hand." Luke demanded.
Bo refused and continued to try to break away from Luke's hold. Luke squeezed Bo's wrist as hard as he could, and Bo flinched at the pain. But Bo still refused to open his hand. Luke pried Bo's fingers open and slid off Bo's wedding ring, then dropped Bo's hand.
"Give that back." Bo said demandingly.
"Why should I? This is nothing but a lie cousin. Your marriage is nothing but a fraud. There ain't no love in it. Face the facts Bo." Luke said coldly.
"Shut up." Bo said his voice slightly trembling.
"Don't you remember what she did to you? I'll help you remember." Luke said and he held his amulet.
The amulet glowed then Bo saw the images of what happened before, and heard all the things Kris had said to him.
"Stop this." Bo said his voice trembling with fear.
"Why? It is the truth cousin." Luke said coldly. "Just like it is true your marriage is nothing." he added.
Luke held Bo's ring, between his thumb and index finger, inches away from Bo's face. He held the amulet tight in his other hand. A pale, gold light consumed the ring. Bo stared in dread, unable to move. Sadness and pain filled Bo's eyes, Luke smiled evilly at seeing that. He squeezed the ring tighter, and the ring started to become deformed. The gold light grew brighter, and the ring vanished. Bo was unable to hide his fear any longer. His whole body started to slightly tremble.
"Face it Bo, nobody loves you. Why don't you just come back to the "evil". Join us and everything will be fine.
"That is a lie." Bo said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Fine, have it your way." Luke said, then vanished from the cell.
The candle blew out and darkness engulfed the small cell.
"All your gonna do is cause yourself more pain." Luke said in a dark voice.
Bo's whole body was slightly trembling from fear and the coldness of the cell. Bo closed his eyes tight and laid down. He tried to think of other things, other then being locked in this cell, but he couldn't clear his thoughts of what was happening. All he could think about was where he was,  the things that were said and the things that had happened. But mostly his thoughts were about what could happen next and he was fearing the unknown. His thoughts drifted to Kris.
"Oh god . . . she is somewheres in this place. I hope that she is okay." he thought to himself. He started to fill with worry about her.
Meanwhile, Kris was laying on a bench, in a cell not far from the cell Bo was in. A candle dimly burned on the one wall. Kris felt tears of fear in her eyes, but she held them back.  Lexie appeared in the cell with her. "Why don't you come back to the evil?" Lexie asked. "Come back to it."
     "No . . . I won't . . . I won't give into it." Kris responded.
"Why? If it wasn't for it you wouldn't have Bo. Although that is really kinda pointless, cause he don't love you." Lexie said coldly.
"That is not true." Kris said, her voice trembling.
"Oh but it is. Why would he love you after all the hurt you caused him . . . all the pain you put him through. He despises you for that. He could never love you."Lexie  said.
Kris started to cry. "That is not true . . . I never meant to . . . I would never mean to hurt Bo." Kris said. "I love Bo." she added in a whisper.
"Well, he don't love you. Nobody does. You hurt so many people."
"I never meant to hurt anyone." Kris said.
"But you did. You have caused Bo so much pain. Do you remember all the pain you caused him?" Lexie questioned.
Kris's face went pale, she didn't respond to  question.
Lexie smiled evilly. "Fine, I'll show you."
She had taken the other half of the amulet to use to cross Kris over. She closed her hand around the amulet and it glowed.
Kris started to see images of Bo's pain. She saw and heard what she said and done to him. She could see the pain in his eyes. Kris started to cry harder. She closed her eyes tightly to try to block the images, but it was to no avail.  started to laugh evilly, then the images slowly faded out.
"Come on join us." Lexie said.
Kris shook her head.
"It'll take away your pain and sadness. Everything will be okay if you join us."
Kris looked at, tears stained her cheeks, her face was pale. "But . . . but . . ." she started to say, but found she didn't know what to say.
Kris felt the evil tugging at her mind. She didn't feel like she was strong enough to fight it, so she gave into it. Kris nodded. There was a bright flash of golden light and Kris become dressed in black. Her eyes flashed dark then back to their normal hazel colour.
Kris and Lexie  then vanished from the cell in a bright flash of light. They reappeared in the temple's main room. Luke was standing by the alter, he smiled evilly as and Kris appeared in the room. Kris and Lexie walked over and stood beside Luke. They all stood a few feet in front of the alter, facing it. Then there was a swirl of tiny gold specks of light, and appeared in front of them and Jareth and Daisy appeared.
"Hello Kris." Daisy said in an emotionlessly tone.
"Hi Daisy." Kris said in much the same tone.
Luke laughed evilly. "Well only one more to go. Now we just have to make Bo see the light and rejoin us."
Bo sat up, he looked at the door. He wondered if Luke was still just outside the door. He got up and walked over to the door. He looked out the small window, on the door. He could just barley see out into the dimly lit corridor. He didn't see Luke out there.
"I gotta find Kris before . . ." Bo started to think. He closed his eyes tight at the thought of what would happen if he didn't find Kris.
He tried the door, in hopes it wasn't locked. The door opened easily and a feeling of relief went through Bo. He quietly walked out into the corridor. The cell he was in was at the end of the corridor, so there was only one choice of direction to go. He started to make his way down the corridor. Bo's eyes adjusted to the dim light as he slowly walked down the corridor. He looked into each of the dimly lit cells, but only to find each was empty. He came to the last cell, and looked in. His heart sank as he saw it was empty as all the others had been. He stepped back and leaned against the far wall. He was filled with dread.
"Oh lordy . . . what if I'm already too late? What if . . . they already turned her . . ." Bo started to think.
He shook his head to clear those thoughts from his mind. He sighed and continued on his way down the narrow corridors. A couple moments later he came to a very narrow, long, flight of stairs. The steps were all wet and covered with moss. He started up the slippery steps. A few steps up, he felt his feet try to slid out from under him. He tried to put his hand against the wall, to stop himself from falling. But it was to no avail, the wall was just as wet and slippery as the stairs. Bo fell backwards down the stairs and landed hard on his left ankle. He grimaced in pain, he sat up and rubbed his ankle. His ankle was only slightly twisted, and soon the pain started to diminish. Bo stood back up, a dull pain went up his leg when he did. But Bo ignored the pain and began to carefully make his way up the stairs.
Bo stood in the dark shadows of one of the doorways to the main room of the temple. He could see five figures standing by the alter. He could see Luke and Lexie but couldn't make out the other three, from where he was standing. He moved within the shadows to get a better view. His ankle was really starting to hurt, so he leaned against the wall. Luke looked over in Bo's direction. Bo thought that Luke knew he was there. Bo held his breath, but Luke looked away not knowing Bo was there. Bo slowly released his breath. Then Bo got a view of one of the other people, and his heart sank, as he saw Kris.
"Dammit, I am already too late." Bo cursed in thought.
He saw the others were Jareth and Daisy.
Luke walked up to the pilar that had the book on it, and started to flip through the pages looking for a spell. Bo saw they had all turned their attention to that. Bo quietly moved through the shadows, making his way towards the exit.
Bo made it out of temple without any of them knowing. He knew he had to stop the evil from over taking Hazzard, and that he had to get his family back. Bo also knew he couldn't do it alone. He figured the only person that could help him was Cooter.
Bo called Cooter from the bus stop at Willow Creek road. He told him that he really needed to talk to him and couldn't tell him about what on the phone. Cooter arrived at the bus stop about fifteen minutes later, and saw Bo sitting there waiting. Bo quietly got into Cooter's truck. Cooter noticed that Bo looked pale and his eyes looked haunted.
"What is wrong?" Cooter asked concernedly.
Bo then told Cooter what had happened. He was just finishing telling him when Cooter pulled the truck to a stop in front of the Duke farm house.
"What are we gonna do?" Cooter asked.
"I don't know. All I know is we gotta get them back. We have to stop it . . . I just don't know." Bo responded.
"You know I'll do anything to help."
Bo gave a small smile. "I know, thanks."
They walked into the house. The two of them stood silently in the front room. Bo started a fire in the fireplace. Bo stood leaning against the mantel of the fireplace. He stared at the fire, his eyes watered with tears of fear and pain but he held the tears back. Cooter just stood by the couch, he could tell how much Bo was hurting. Cooter had no idea what to say to ease Bo's fears, he wished he did. He was saddened by Bo's obvious pain. Bo was one of the best friends he ever had, and he always thought of all the Dukes more like family then just friends. He silently vowed to himself to do all he could to help no matter the cost.
     "Bo . . ." Cooter softly spoke.
Bo didn't respond, he remained standing silently by the fireplace, staring into the fire.
Cooter walked over and put a hand on Bo's shoulder. "It'll be okay. We'll get them back and we will stop the evil."
Bo looked at Cooter, and forced a small smile. "I know it's just that . . . I am just . . ." he glanced back at the fire. "I am so scared." he said softly his voice slightly trembling.
"So am I." Cooter replied. "Don't worry they'll be okay."
Bo closed his eyes to try to fight back the strong emotions of fear and pain that raced through his body. He tried hard to hold back the tears he felt swelling up in his eyes, but still a couple tears slid down his cheeks. "I know that." he said looking at Cooter.
"Why don't we just use the direct approach and go get them back?" Cooter questioned.
Bo laughed and for the first time his eyes actually glimmered with the feeling that they really would get them back. "Sounds good."
They went out to the barn and got bows,  arrows, and dynamite arrows. They got into Cooter's tow truck and headed towards Eagle Point. Bo was driving as fast as he could make the old truck go. He was barely paying attention to where he was driving. Then the sound of sirens came up behind them.
     "It's Rosco." Cooter said.
Bo didn't feel like a chase, so he sighed and pulled over to the edge of the road. Rosco walked up alongside the truck.
"All right I got ya for speeding this time." Rosco said.
"We don't have time for this." Bo said flatly.
"Oh really." Rosco said. "And why's that?"
Bo then told him all that happened, trying to keep his voice from shaking as he told him what had happened.
"Oh . . .oh . . ." Rosco said, his voice trembling slightly. "I want to help you get them back . . . and stop this thing."
     "Thanks." Bo said.
The two cars then sped towards Eagle Point.
Luke, Kris, and Lexie  were standing in the temple's main room Daisy and Jareth had left
"How are we gonna stop them?" Lexie asked.
"We'll send the General out after them." Luke replied.
     "Good idea." Lexie said smiling.
The sound of the General's engine roared through the temple, echoing of the walls.
Out on Cottontail road the two cars were speeding towards Eagle Point in a cloud of dust. Then the General appeared behind them. The General slammed into the back of Rosco's patrol car. The patrol car swerved towards the edge of the cliff. The General rammed the car again. Then both cars went off the edge of the cliff. Bo brought the truck to a stop. Bo and Cooter got out of the truck and looked over the edge of the cliff. Both cars lay in burning wreckage at the bottom of the cliff. Bo felt a cold chill go through him and he shuddered.
Cooter noticed. "We gotta keep going we can't stop now."
Bo nodded. They got into the truck and continued on towards the temple.
Down at the bottom of the cliff a gold light engulfed the General Lee. A low buzzing sound filled the air, louder then the crackle of the fire. After a couple moments the General appeared undamaged. The engine reeved once then the General vanished.
Bo pulled the truck to a stop in the bushed near the temple. He took a deep breath. "Well let's do it to it."
They walked into the small clearing in front of the temple. There was a bright flash of gold light and an explosion that knocked Bo and Cooter over. The blast had knocked them off their feet and thrown them back a few feet. They landed a few feet away from one another. After the light dimmed they could see Luke, Kris and  standing on the temple stairs. Luke stared down at Bo, and slowly descended down the stairs and walked towards him. Bo tried to move but his whole body burned with pain and he fell limply back to the ground. Bo slowly and carefully, rolled over on to his back and looked up at Luke. Luke stood staring expressionlessly down at Bo, his shadow was cast over Bo.
"Hello cousin." Luke said coldly. "Join us." he added demandingly.
"Give it up." Bo responded in the same demanding tone Luke had used.
"You have no right to speak to me like that. You are just a mere mortal. I am . . ." Luke started to say but Bo cut him off.
     "You are NOTHING."
"SILENCE! You shall feel the wrath for daring to speak to me in such an insolent tone."
Before Bo could respond Luke dropped down over him, bringing his knee down hard into Bo's ribs. Bo flinched in pain. He tried to roll away, but Luke was keeping all his weight on his ribs. Luke just laughed evilly at Bo's pain. The sacrificial sword appeared in Luke's hand. He held it against Bo's throat, drawing a small trickle of blood.
"Luke . . . don't." Bo said, trying hard to hide the fear in his voice.
Luke just glared darkly at Bo. Then Luke was suddenly knocked off Bo by a flying tackle by Cooter. Cooter went to say something but before he could speak Luke's amulet glowed brightly, and Cooter remained silent. Luke flung Cooter towards a tree, as Cooter flew through the air Luke flung his sword after him. Cooter struck the tree with a loud thud, and the sword plunged through Cooter's mid-section. The sword held Cooter's limp, dead body against the tree. Blood flowed from the cut, pooling on the ground in front of the tree. Luke walked over to the tree, his eyes void of any emotion, and he pulled the sword from Cooter's body. Cooter fell to the ground. Bo looked at where Cooter lay dead. Tears burned his eyes in mourning for his dead friend, but he held them back. A gold consumed the sword, removing the blood stains from it. Luke walked back over to where Bo was and looked down at him.
"So are you gonna join us yet?" Luke asked.
Bo looked up at Luke, his tears had stopped. He knew he had to remain strong to fight the evil and not to become consumed by it.
Bo shook his head. "I won't give in to it."
Kris walked to where Bo lay and knelt down beside him.
"Come on Bo just join us. Don't you want to be with me? Give in to it." Kris said softly.
Bo closed his eyes and tried to ignore what she saying. "I will not give into it."
"Don't you love me?" Kris asked.
Bo opened his eyes and looked at Kris "Of course I love you. I will not let the evil consume my soul though. There is no love when your soul is consumed by pure evil.
"It does not consume your soul." Luke said harshly.
Bo just laid there silently, he could feel the evil pulling at his mind trying to invade his thoughts. He just closed his eyes and tried to fight it. Kris got up and walked up the temple's stairs. Luke took out the other half the amulet. Lexie walked up the stairs to join Kris. The two of them then walked into the temple.
"Come on Bo just join us. You know you can't fight it. So why not just give into the darkness. Join us." Luke said coldly.
Bo could feel the darkness of the evil starting to invade his mind and soul. Bo thought to himself: "I can't do this . . . I can't fight it . . . not alone . . . I just can't . . . but I can't give into it . . .I . . ."
"Well cousin what is your answer?" Luke asked.
Bo could feel his mind giving into it, he nodded in agreement to accept the evil back. Luke smiled evilly. Bo sat up and Luke slid the other half the amulet around Bo's neck. The amulet glowed brightly. Luke touched the sword to Bo's shoulder. A bright gold light enveloped Bo's body. Then slowly the light dissipated. Bo was dressed in black. His eyes flashed black, then slowly faded back into their normal deep blue. Bo stood up and looked up at the temple, an evil smile curled his lips. The two of them then walked into the temple, dark clouds rolled in blocking the sun's light.
"So glad that you finally decided to join us." Kris said as Bo walked into the temple's main room.
Bo walked over to Kris and smiled. "Yeah." he said and lightly kissed her on the lips.
Bo stepped away from Kris and joined Luke by the book.
The evil never had to strong of hold on Daisy's mind and she started to see what was happening and tried to fight it off. Jareth and Daisy appeared in the temple's main room. Jareth laid Daisy on the alter.
"Come on Daisy don't fight it. Just give in." Luke said.
Daisy shook her head. "No."
"She is not needed if she refuses to allow the evil in dispose of her." Jareth said.
"Okay last chance. Will you join us?" Luke asked Daisy.
     "No." Daisy responded.
The sacrifice swords appeared in Bo and Luke's hands. The candles began to glow brighter, outside loud thunder rolled across the darkened sky. Bo and Luke raised the swords. The swords glistened in the candlelight. Daisy's eyes filled with fear, she tried to scream but couldn't find her voice. Bo and Luke then plunged the swords into her. A gold light flowed from her body up the swords. Then after a couple moments Daisy's body turned to dust, then the dust vanished. Bo and Luke turned around. Bo placed his sword on Kris's shoulder and Luke placed his sword on Lexie's shoulder. Some of the energy they had drained from Daisy then flowed into them. The flames of the candles returned to their normal level and the thunder outside ceased.
Bo walked away from the alter, his eyes appeared to be watering with tears of sadness by what just happened. He walked out of the temple and looked up at the sky. Dark, ominous clouds billowed across the sky. He looked down at the trees. He could hear a deep growling sound. It sounded like a wild animal eating it's prey. He knew the sound was coming from the beast that was the guardian of the temple. Cooter's body was gone, and there was bloody trail leading into the woods. Bo now knew what the beast was eating. Bo sighed and started walking to where Cooter's truck was parked. Luke came out of the temple and looked at Bo.
     "Where are you going?"
"To the farm." Bo responded flatly.
"Yeah well just be back here by nightfall." Luke said, and turned and walked back into the temple.
     "Yeah right." Bo mumbled.
Bo slid into the tow truck and sat behind the wheel. He didn't have the key, and he didn't feel like hot wiring the truck. Bo reached up and touched his amulet and the truck's engine roared to life. Bo pushed the accelerator to the floor and sped to the Duke farm.
Bo walked into the front room. His deep, blue eyes shone with suppressed tears. He held the amulet tight in his hand, and glared at the fireplace, and a small fire appeared within it.
"You shouldn't not use the amulets power. The more you do the more you become consumed by the evil." a soft voice said.
Bo spun around to face where the voice had come from. A few feet away stood a young woman, with pale blue eyes and a caring face. She wore a long white dress, the bottom of which lay spread out around her feet. She had soft blonde almost white hair, which billowed down in gentle locks, that ended at her ankles.
"Yeah well, that is what I want, cause then I don't gotta feel like . . ." Bo said his voice trailing off.
The figure smiled softly. "That is not really true is it, Bo? You don't want to be evil and you want to save the people you love."
"How do you know my name and all that . . . Who are you?"
"I know a lot about you Bo Duke. I can not tell you who I am. I can only tell you that for every force of evil there is also a force of good."
"Yeah well why didn't you come before?" Bo asked.
"My assistance wasn't required before to stop the evil. This time there is no alternative."
"Is . . . is it still possible to save everyone else?"
"Yes it is. You must return to the temple now. Things will work out. The evil can be stopped. Just believe in the goodness of your soul . . . and theirs."
Bo nodded and left the farmhouse. The figure stood watching.
"I wish I could warn him that things shall get much worse before they get better. But the would disrupt the continuum too much as it would for him to know the truth of why the evil chose them." she thought then started to cry. "Good luck, Bo." she said softly then vanished.
Bo sped back to the temple with a renewed hope of being able to save those he loves.
Bo stopped in front of temple, and got out of the truck. He stood for a moment looking up at the temple. He was filled with fear. He felt a cold chill go through his whole body. Dark clouds were blocking the sun's light. Bo realized he had no idea what to do to stop the evil. He took a deep breath and started up the temple's stairs.
Luke, Lexie, and Kris  were standing in the temple's main room. They turned and looked as Bo walked into the room.
"About time you got back." Luke said staring coldly at Bo.
"Yeah whatever." Bo said diverting his eyes from Luke.
Luke's gaze got even darker, and he walked over to Bo. Bo looked at Luke their eyes locked. Luke appeared to be staring right through Bo, and into his soul. Suddenly Luke's eyes went completely black and he backhanded Bo across the face. Bo fell to the floor rubbing his jaw.
"Just give in to it." Luke said demandingly.
"No, never. I won't let this evil win. I won't let it destroy everything."
Bo ripped the amulet off his neck and threw it against the alter. It bounced off with a silent thunk and landed on the floor. Luke glared at Bo and raised his foot to kick Bo. But Bo grabbed his foot and pulled Luke to the ground. Bo tore off Luke's amulet and threw it across the room.
Kris and  were standing, watching what was happening in silence. Bo got up and grabbed the book off the pilar, and started to run from the temple. As he ran through the dimly lit corridors he realized he didn't really know what he was doing, and was just acting on some kind of pure instinct. Bo could hear Luke yelling at him: "GET BACK HERE!", but Bo kept running. He knew they were following him out. Bo went over to the truck. He took a can of gasoline out of the back. He dropped the book to the ground and poured the gas over it, and lit a match.
     "STOP!" Luke yelled.
"No. I won't stop. I am destroying this book for all the pain and suffering it has cause everyone . . . all the death. All the pain it has cause me and the people I love. I won't let it hurt anyone anymore." Bo said tossing the match on to the book.
The book burst into flames and disintegrated.
Jareth appeared on the temple stairs. "Foolish mortal. Do you think you can win that easily?"
Bo just looked at him, not responding to her question. His heart was racing with fear, but the fear in his eyes was covered by the determined to defeat the evil.
"Why blame book for the evil? It didn't start the evil's reign. Why not blame the person who found the book and got it all started?" Jareth  asked with an evil smile.
"The book is what is evil. It is not . . ." Bo started to say but cut him off.
"Don't you remember how this all started?" he questioned. "Perhaps you need to be reminded."A thick fog then rolled in engulfing everything. From the direction of the temple came an eerie light that glowed dimly then flashed brightly.
********************************************************************************
Bo and Luke were replacing the fence in the back forty. They found the hard work distracted their minds from what had happened only a few short weeks ago. Neither hardly spoke a word as the worked. Bo stopped working to get a drink of water. He stood leaning against the General. Luke was digging holes for fence posts, when his shovel struck something hard. Luke grumbled, thinking it was just another rock. Luke dug it up and found it was a book. He thought it was odd for the book to buried but just shrug it off. The book was strange looking, it had a clasp that sealed it shut. Luke walked over to the General.
     "What's that?" Bo asked.
"A book." Luke said flatly, laying the book on the hood of the General.
Bo looked at the book. He touched the cover and immediately pulled his hand away. The book felt as cold as ice and it felt as though it was going to freeze his fingers.
"Why was it buried?" Bo asked.
"How should I know?" Luke replied.
Luke took out his knife and used it to pry the seal open. Luke opened the book. On the inside of the front cover was half an amulet. Luke took it out and laid it on the General. Then he flipped the book over. On the inside of the back cover was the other half the amulet. Luke took it out and laid it down by the other half, then turned the book back over.
"How did ya know that there was two of ‘em like that?" Bo asked.
Luke shrugged. "I don't know. I just did." he replied nonchalantly.
Luke started to flip through the pages of the book. The text was in some strange language, neither of them had ever seen before. Luke stopped on one of the pages and started to look at it intently, as though he was reading it.
"Can you actually read that stuff?" Bo asked.
Luke didn't respond, he just continued looking at the page.
"So . . . Can you read it or what?"
Luke looked up. "Yeah I can."
"What does it say?" Bo asked.
"It is a spell of power and control. With this we can have absolute power and never have to worry about anything ever again." Luke said.
Bo ran his fingers through his thick blonde hair. "What do you mean by that?"
"What I mean is we can rule everything and have ABSOLUTE power. We would be immortal."
"Yeah but . . ." Bo started to say.
"But what?" Luke asked in a slightly agitated tone.
     "It is evil, ain't it?"
"Yeah so what? It means we have power." Luke said.
"But it is EVIL." Bo said.
"That's besides the point. I mean we never have to worry about death again. We would be immortal and we can make those we love immortal. We never have to lose anybody ever again, like we lost uncle Jesse."
"Yeah it's just that . . ." Bo said then stopped.
"We never again have to feel pain and this way we can just forget this pain we feel now. Things won't be so bad everything will be fine."
"Really? How do you know that? How do you know it won't make the pain worse? I mean it is evil." Bo said.
"Look, either way I am going through with this. So you are either with me or against me. I'd rather you'd be with me . . . I mean we are team."
Bo didn't respond, he just stared at the book.
"It won't be that bad. It is absolute power. Trust me." Luke said.
"Yeah . . . okay. Fine let's do it." Bo responded.
Luke connected the two halves of the amulet and it flashed a bright golden light. Then he started to recite the spell. Dark clouds quickly rolled in and lightening streaked across the sky. When Luke finished the spell, a cold, red rain started to fall and the temple rose up on Eagle Point.
********************************************************************************
The fog cleared and the images left.
"See that is how it all got it started." Jareth said with a smirk.
"So what? It was not Luke's fault." Bo said.
"If it wasn't for the evil you wouldn't have Kris . . . she is responsible for the evil returning the second time."
"That is not true." Bo responded.
"It is true.  Maybe she didn't intentionally do it . . . she had no idea anything about the amulet . . . until too late of course. She and Lexie received the amulet as a gift. But it is true, if it wasn't for this evil you wouldn't have Kris." Jareth said.
Bo just glared at him.
"And Daisy is the on that started the evil's reign this time. True she was conned into it and tried to fight it after . . . but none the less." Jareth said with an evil smile.
Jareth turned into a demon with dark crimson red skin and yellow eyes, he glared at Bo. "Why do you bother to fight there is no way you will ever win."
Bo didn't respond. He took out a bow and a dynamite arrow and aimed it at  and fired. The arrow hit  and the detonator cap exploded. There was no flames, Jareth was vaporized into dust. All that was left was a small pile of gold coloured dust. Bo took out another arrow and aimed it towards the temple.
"Don't do that." Lexie said, connecting the two halves of the amulet.
A gold beam shot out towards Bo, striking him fully in the stomach. Bo stumbled and dropped to his knees.  shot another beam at him. It to struck him, and he feel to the ground.  went to hit him with another bolt. This time Bo rolled out of the way just in time to avoid being hit. Bo jumped to his feet, ignoring the pain.  He shot the arrow through the temple door. There was an explosion, followed by multiple smaller explosions. Then the amulet exploded. An electric blue light engulfed Lexie's body and she fell to the ground, unmoving. Bo  rushed to her side. He checked for a pulse, but there was none.
"What a shame, I did kind of care for her. It is a waste. But the game ain't over yet, cousin. You will never win." Luke said.
Bo stood up and looked at Luke. Before either could say anything else a demon walked out of the temple. It stood at least seven feet tall. It's body was a dull grey, it's eyes shone bright red. It narrowed it's eyes at Bo, and bared it's long teeth at him. It's body was covered in a shiny black armour. It had long claws, each appeared to be razor sharp. The demon just stared at Bo for a couple moments then lunged at him. It swung at Bo, cutting him across the chest. Bo dropped to the ground, flinching in pain. The demon raised it's claws, preparing to deliver a lethal blow through Bo's back. As it brought it's hand down, Luke grabbed it from behind and pulled it away from Bo. It quickly turned to face Luke.
"I WON'T let you hurt him." Luke said, his eyes their normal light blue.
The demon glared at him. In a quick movement the demon struck out. Plunging it's claws through Luke's heart, killing him instantaneously. It pulled it's claws back, dropping Luke's lifeless body to the ground. Bo could feel tears burning in his eyes, but he held them back.
"You'll pay for that." Bo said, his voice filled with vengefulness.
Bo went to the truck and fired a dynamite arrow at the demon. But that didn't stop it. The arrow hit the armour and exploded, leaving only a dent. Before the demon could react, Bo fired another arrow hitting the exact same spot. This time it penetrated the demon's armour, and it became engulfed in flames. The demon shrieked at the pain and staggard towards Bo. Then it dropped dead to the ground. The flames extinguished, there was only dust remaining where the demon had been, then that vanished. Bo went over to where Luke lay and bent down by him. Luke's eyes were open, they were glazed and lifeless. Bo gently closed Luke's eyes. "Thank you brother." he softly whispered then stood up.
Bo turned to face Kris. She was standing there with tears streaking her cheeks, her whole body slightly trembling. Bo went to go comfort her. But before he could reach her, the guardian beast lunged out of the woods and knocked her to the ground. It swung it's paw and cut her deeply across the mid-section. Kris cried out in pain. Then the beast clamped it's strong jaw around her left shoulder. It's razor sharp teeth punctured through her, just above her heart. Kris tried to yell, but couldn't find her voice. Tears of pain streaked her cheeks. Bo knew he couldn't hit the beast with a dynamite arrow while it was on Kris like that, cause she to would be caught in the explosion. He didn't think it was safe to even try to hit it with a regular arrow cause, if his aim was even the slightest bit off, he could hit Kris. He grabbed an arrow and went and plunged it through the beast's thick, neck. It released it's jaw from around Kris and gave a garbled yelp it staggard off Kris and then dropped dead. Bo dropped down by Kris's side and held her dying body in his arms.
"Please don't die, Kris. I can't lose you to." Bo said softly, tears streaked his cheeks.
Kris's eyes fluttered open and she looked at Bo and smiled. She opened her mouth to say something, but found she didn't have the strength.
"Oh Kris." Bo said gently, brushing back her auburn hair off her face.
Kris closed her eyes, her heart beat and breathing started to slow. Bo held her tighter in his arms. He could feel the life draining out of her. He realised there was nothing he could do to save her. Within moments she died in Bo's arms. But Bo didn't let her go. He sat there holding her in his arms, her head against his chest. Tears streaked his cheeks.
Bo looked around at everyone's dead bodies and filled with a complete sadness, realising he was alone, everyone he loved was dead. The figure he saw at the farm then appeared before him.
"You said they could be saved . . ." Bo said his voice full of hatred, he held back his tears. "But you lied they are all DEAD!"
She didn't even flinch at the anger in his voice, she just smiled softly. "I know things seem bad. But this is what was to have happened. I wish I could've warned you."
"What are you talking?" Bo asked.
"Things always seem to get worse before they get better. Everything will work out if..."
     "If what?"
"You go back to a time before the evil was ever started and change the one event that led to all of this. If you want to."
"I'd do anything to stop this." Bo said, then looked down at Kris. "That means though . . . Kris and I will never . . . never be together."
"That is not true. You are soul mates. The two of you have been soul bonded, and nothing can keep the two of you apart. Destiny will find away to bring the two of you back together."
     "What about Lexie?" Bo asked.
"She to is destined to be here destiny will find a way to bring her here." she said.
"So then what do you just reverse time or what?" Bo asked
She smiled softly. "Kind of. Time will go back to the past."
"Will everyone be okay? Will anyone remember anyone of this?"
"Everyone will be okay. It'll be like none of this ever happened. No, nobody will remember this."
Bo gently laid Kris's body down on the ground. "Okay, well what has to be done?"
She took at silver wand, on it's top, was strange shape that Bo didn't recognize, it sparkle with specks of many colours. She touched it Bo's shoulder. A soft light engulfed Bo's body. Then everything faded out from around him. There was multiple colours of light, swirling around him in streaks. Then that to faded out as well.
It was an average day in Hazzard County. The sun shone brightly. Bo and Luke were repairing the fence on the back forty, that got knocked over the last time Rosco chased them. Luke turned to say something to Bo, and he noticed that Bo was ghastly pale. Then Bo dropped unconscious to the ground.
Luke rushed over to Bo. "Bo are you okay?" he asked worriedly.
He tried, but couldn't get Bo to wake up. He rushed over to the General and grabbed the CB.
"Lost Sheep to Shepard. Lost Sheep to Shepard. Come in Shepard." Luke said, his voice slightly frantic.
     "This is Shepard, what's wrong?"
"I don't know. Bo just passed out. I can't get him to wake up. I think we'd better get him to the hospital."
"Okay. Where are you at now?"
"Out by the fence on the back forty, we just got everything to fix the fence."
"Okay hold tight, I'll meet you there and we'll get him to the hospital."
     "Yes sir."
Moments later Jesse pulled up, in his beat up old white pick up truck. Luke was knelt down by Bo, and was holding his head in his lap.
"How is he doin'?" Jesse asked his voice fraught with worry.
     "He's still out cold."
Jesse and Luke carefully pick up Bo and slid him through the passenger window of the General. Luke went around and got in the driver's side and Jesse carefully slid in by Bo on the passenger side.
Luke sped towards Tri-County General Hospital. While the doctors were looking at Bo, Luke called Daisy at the Boar's Nest. She rushed right over to the hospital.
It was about two hours later and Jesse started to feel ill. His face was pale, and his left arm was sore. One of the doctor's that was passing noticed and realised what was wrong. Jesse was going into cardiac arrest. So he had him checked in and gave him medication to avoid him having a heart attack. Within a few hours Jesse was feeling perfectly fine. The doctor told him to take it easy for the next few days.
The doctors said they couldn't find anything wrong with Bo. They had no idea why he passed out, or why he wasn't regaining consciousness. The said the only thing they found was his body appeared to be under a great amount of stress, for some reason. They had no way of knowing that part of the cause of that was from Bo's future self entering the body of his younger, former self. The stress and pain he had been in at that time was still there. Though only in the mental state, and not the actually psychical injures, although to the mind they were just as real as if the injures were there.
About four days later Bo woke up.
"How ya feeling?" Jesse asked concernedly.
"I feel like I got hit by truck." Bo responded.
They told Bo about everything that had happened while he was out. The doctors saw no reason for Bo to stay in the hospital, just said he should take it easy for a while. Jesse went to get truck, and Daisy, Luke and Bo sat and talked.
"Well, I guess then one good thing came from this." Bo said as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"What do you mean by that?" Daisy asked.
"Well I mean since we were here it avoided . . ." Bo started to say but couldn't bring himself to finish the sentence.
They both knew what he meant.
     "Yeah." Daisy agreed softly.
"Yeah, I guess that is true." Luke said.
They all knew since they were at the hospital they were able to stop Jesse from having a heart attack. Which they all knew could have been fatal. They knew they would not be able to deal with that. They all loved him too much.
Daisy gave Bo a hug. "I'm just glad that you're okay. You had us all so worried. I was so afraid we'd lose you."
"I had no intention of leaving y'all." Bo said.
"Yeah Daisy, his a Duke his got at least nine lives." Luke said.
Daisy just looked at Luke and laughed and shook her head. "Oh yeah... right. Like you weren't worried to."
"Okay fine. I admit I was worried." Luke said. "So don't you ever pull a stunt like that again Bo Duke." Luke said trying to sound serious.
Bo smiled and laughed. "Yes sir."
Jesse came back up to the room. Then they all went back to the Duke farm.
